![How HOT is TOO HOT?](https://cf.girlsaskguys.com/q5249239/181ad632-a254-40cc-8c0c-ed02440d14b4.jpg)
It's so hot in the Washington DC area that the wax statue of former President Abraham Lincoln lost his head.
In the high heat of the US capital, the head went first, then one of his legs dripped off its torso and a foot turned into a blob. The chair sank into the ground.
The memorial rests on the site of Camp Barker in Washington DC - a Civil War-era refugee camp that housed formerly enslaved and freed African Americans - now home to an elementary school. It was placed outside of Garrison Elementary School as part of The Wax Monument Series by Virginia-based artist Sandy Williams IV.
How hot is it where you are?

Although I spent my first 6 years in England, I got used to the heat of California pretty quickly for that first year we were there, and then I had to get used to the humid heat of our Florida heat after that. Yeah it gets hot, and I can take 95ºF (35ºC) with easy 98% humidity, so the “Feels Like” temperature is well over 100ºF (37.78ºC) that’s when it is TOO hot! It’’s definitely the humidity, because I’ve been in temps well over 100ºF in the desert of Death Valley California, and it didn't feel nearly as bad as 95º here w/ 98% humidity!
Is that a joke? What fool makes a statue made of Wax when summer exists smh.
Hope American's tax money ain't going to refix it because if it is while you guys need another riot but on something that matters like this lol.
And yes it's super hot here, I went to America in ya know August and that wasn't as hot as here and it was for sure hot on those days it's just the heat is different somehow.
Probably humidity though I am pretty sure America had a strong humidity too.
Though we are also dumb because our country don't think we need Air Con we do.
chicago heat wave in 1995 was 113 degrees.
despite 30 years of added co2 the heat wave was LESS warm.
wax wouldn't melt in 113 degrees either.
Look at the picture it melted your point makes no sense.
😭😭😭
ITS COLD
STONE COLD FREEZING OUT HERE
JHB SOUTH AFRICA
CAPE TOWN USUALLY SNOWS BUT NOT THIS WINTER THOUGH
🥶🥶🥶
15°c is far from "freezing". it rained there.
The UK is supposed to be in the middle of a heatwave if you believe the tabloids. But in my little corner it's been one of the coldest summers I can recall.
The heat here isn't an issue, it rarely gets above 30°C (usually 21) it's the heat plus high humidity that gets people.
I've been watching the whole thing on zoom. earth and seething in envy of the folks back home.
London has had it the worst the whole time... at least for temperature. And then there has been the pollen situation on top of all that.
I think the real answer to your question is- how often have you told the sun to back away, because it's too close? It's hardly reasonable to expect it to know there's a problem; it's 93 million miles away, farther than any human has been from you in all of recorded history.
Usually anything over 300 to 500 degrees floor temperature is getting kind of toasty.
You sweat boils between your face mask and your skin. You find out quickly if you left any skin exposed.
It's a good time to start getting some water on the fire.
I've been hotter, I've lost a couple helmets to heat, and you could see the outline of my airpack on my gear.
It happens, but we try to keep that at a minimum.
Stuff is not cheap.
I do not find it surprising that this wax statue melted, summer in Washington has never been been pleasant, comes from being built on a swamp!!
I live in the Lake District in the North of England, our average summer daily high temperatures are around 16°C, rarely falling below 12°C or exceeding 22°C, though we can get the odd stretch with temperatures in the high 20's. Today's temp is 17°C, with it going up to around 18°C over the weekend.
it lasted until now?
when i was 8 in 1985 left a wax candle in a car n it melted.
at night, every night, heeven now after anothrr day of co2 millions of trucks n tanks...
heat of day escapes "not trapped" as the "concerned scientists" lie.
they observe, n only observe is science, but refuse to say.
even AccuWeather changed its website to fool people.
now comes the real SHOCKER
the temperature was "100" so LESS heat than past heat waves...
2, and since when does wax melt at 100 degrees unless... it was a certain chemical used just for fooling the youngsters at that scool.
where i am the temperature "COOLED" by 21 degrees last night. it was only 91 in sun, so cooler than Washington de capital d c. .
Too hot= I'm flapping my night gown, underwear on with my roommates around... inside the house. Sure, i flex in public but bruuuh.
Good to see you too :D
it's been hot. we need to look into how cattle could help remediate some of the damage.
the protein coagulates at a temperature of 60°C and that defines too hot for me.
60c? you believe it was 60 c. there? it was 100 f. = 38c
@strateguy632 you asked how hot is too hot, I defined MY "too hot", as I can't speak for others
yesterday we had 45C and today it looks like it will be only hotter... still I like it :D
"feels like 126" Hot Summer Texas can be really bad...
but I know there's worse elsewhere
ever noticed that weather websites switched from observed measurements alone, to add "subjective feel".
if the temperature historicly was 95 now it is wamer because "feel like" 99.
@strateguy632 that is not new... that has always existed
called heat index
they just changed the wording to a more casual wording
I'm alright up to 30 degrees (86 F). Above that and I will feel it, especially in an urban surrounding.
We have had a couple of days at 30c, rest of country is varied. Humidity it the main buggeration factor not so much heat.
It is 90 degrees but it is a nice day. Anything around a hundred is hot.
exacly... when air is hotter than body temperature
Hoe old is this statue? I wouldn't think a wax statue would be very durable. I'm just trying to understand why someone would even make one.
It's like at my state fair. The make a "butter cow" each year (not always a cow but we are agricultural state, so we refer to it as the "butter cow"). But that butter cow is only expected to last 2 weeks.
How temporary was this statue?
Once I start turning lobster it's about that time to stay inside.
How would a wax statue ever survive outdoors? It would freeze and melt and freeze and melt and be affected by rain and everything else.
I don't want to deal with anything over 20*C any more. I'm sick and tired of it.
Seems like a bad time of year to be displaying wax statues outside.
wax wouldn't melt, this was a trick to fool 4th graders.
