In terms of its immediate impact, there is not likely to be much. Each side will be hardened in their views and it is not apt to move the needle very much. However, the implications for the legal system are apt to be more serious over the long run.
While I am no fan of Mr. Trump, he was not even told what crimes he was being charged with until the trial began - a clear violation of the 5th Amendment. Further, the judge was know to have made several campaign contributions to the Biden campaign and his daughter was known to work for that campaign. Suffice to say, that brings up a variety of conflict of interest questions and undermines any claim to objectivity.
All this made worse by the fact that the case was brought on the basis of a misdemeanor charge for which the statute of limitations had run out. The case being then brought forward by linking to Federal election laws with which the state of New York has no jurisdiction. (It also being noted that the judge blocked the Trump people from calling an Federal elections law expert as a witness.)
Put it all together and the likely outcomes will be two. First, expect prosecutors in Republican states will likely now go after Democrat candidates for various elective offices. A war of political lawsuits is apt to follow.
Second, and more worrisome, is the overall legal and judicial system will gradually lose its' legitimacy, making the rule of law problematic. The implications of that will be - to say the least - grim.
Although I am no fan of Mr. Trump, this case was too crassly political and too contrived to have any real merit. It was also as predictable as the sunrise - especially given that the jury was drawn from a population 89% solidly Democrat - that Trump would be found guilty. (This after the Trump team had asked for a change of venue and was denied it by the judge.)
The outcome was predictable. The effect - long term - on the outcome of the election is likely to be minimal. (Indeed, it may even give Mr. Trump a modest boost.) The effect on the credibility of the American legal system is likely to be far grimmer and enduring.
@nightdrot Democrats are thinking this would be their ace hole in one to block Trump but they are wrong. If anything this is going to help him long term. This is more of a negative reflection on DEMOCRATS and the Biden administration than it is on Trump.
But you are 100% right thar the banana republic disgusting insanity is very bad for America. This is the first time in American history where a sitting president used lawfare against political opposition.
Simply not true. Not even the word "the"
@nightdrot When Trump was indicted on all 34 felony counts are you saying Trump wasn't informed about it? Also, the jury of his peers are citizens not political figures, convicted him based on the evidence. Actual evidence. A political figure broke laws that they were able to actually prove, not just pass allegations. It is political in the sense that Trump is the one who is the only one saying his enemies are after him.
The jury just did their jobs. So sick of the excuses and the legal system actually defended the honor of all Americans by not allowing anyone to be above the law. His only enemy is himself. He got caught breaking the law it's that easy. He opens his mouth too much and burns everyone on his side, and no one is loyal to him for that reason.
If the impotent, disillusioned, and anarchist republicans actually have evidence of Biden or any politician breaking the law, they should be held accountable too. Maybe it will happen but you have to have more than allegations. If that day comes I won't root for any democrat that is caught of wrongdoing for real.
The difference is too many Republicans can't admit he is even capable of being guilty of anything ever. It's pathetic and totally cultish.
@Friendlybro79 the “jury did their jobs” and meanwhile special prosecutor Ben Hur really did his when he decided not prosecute Biden because “too old and forgetful to be convicted by a grand jury” but not too old to be our sitting f*cking president.
In reality the jury were already were all democrats and/or they were terrified for their own lives and the welfare of their families if they acquitted Trump. They are coming from a district that votes 89% democrat.
All this has done was prove Trump RIGHT about the election being stolen from him. I actually didn’t believe it when he said that in 2020. Still don’t believe it in 2020. But that senile incompetent corrupt corpse excuse for a president gets re-elected in 2024 then Trump’s theory will be proven exactly right. As if the country wasn’t divided enough as it is.
But I get it. None of that matters to you. But what should matter to you is f*cking hyperinflation. That’s hurts everybody including you Do you things will magically get better if Biden get re-elected?
@blueonblack22 so is Biden a bold daring international criminal mastermind or a dottering octogenarian who's to feeble to even walk?
@DrPepper12 the latter. But he’s being controlled by his far leftist radical base.
@Friendlybro79 Actually, no. The specific crime - which is to say the felony - was not defined until, in effect, the judge issued his instructions. Prior to that, the discussion was over a series of misdemeanors, the statute of limitations of which had long since expired.
Moreover, when the Trump team attempted to address the nominal Federal question - again it not being specified in the actual 34 indictments - by calling an expert in Federal election law, the judge blocked them. This is a clear violation of the 5th Amendment and will likely be the basis of any Trump appeal.
@blueonblack22 As you will note, I said that this is not likely to have a dramatic impact on the election outcome. Indeed, the case has become so muddled, that anyone not closely following it is likely to have their eyes glaze over.
To be sure, this was an effort by elements opposed to Trump - including the Biden administration (see also the Biden official who quit the number 3 position at DoJ to work in the New York legal system) - to impair his election and take him off the campaign trail. However, overall, it is not likely to sway things much. Indeed, Biden has been more hurt by his increasing signs of aging and his rhetorical overkill than by anything this case did to public opinion one way or the other.
That said, the damage that will have been done to trust in public institutions is apt to prove very long lasting. This - particularly in this age of populism run amok (see also BOTH Donald Trump and Joe Biden) - is exceedingly dangerous.
@nightdrot You're just repeating Faux News talking points. I expect a higher standard of insight from you.
@AngryCarl Okay, so what was Mr. Trump charged with - specifically? What was the state jurisdiction? At what point was the specific Federal charge made and what was the nexus with state jurisdiction?
Not to mention the fact that it is on the record that the judge was a contributor to the Biden campaign and his daughter worked for that campaign. That being the case, what is the argument that there was no conflict of interest here and that the judge need not recuse himself from the case. (Also, how was this judge selected as against normal NY state procedures?)
What is your higher standard in response to these questions. Just because you don't like the source... Oh, and by the way, I am a former Congressional staffer with two friends who were attorneys at the DoJ. They helped me to understand the "legalesse."
@Friendlybro79 hence they are tightly accused of being in a cult...
@AngryCarl here is a “faux news” CNBC article about reality www.cnbc.com/.../...ction-chances-biden-polls.html
My thoughts are that he was just elected president on November 5th.
This was a sham trial, a communist show trial, a railroad job and everyone knows it.
President Trump is the only credible threat to the corrupt Democrats in Washington and they know it. They will stop at nothing to prevent him from becoming president and cleaning out their corrupt empire.
This sham trial is the worst threat to the Constitution and American liberty and a disgraceful perversion of the legal system. It will not stand. The people will return the real verdict on November 5th.
It's been reported that shortly after the verdict President Trump's donation site crashed because of a massive surge in people wanting to make donations.
The Democrats thought that they were very clever, making up all these fraudulent charges against him to interfere with the election and rig it by smearing president Trump when he did nothing wrong and by tying him up in court so he could not campaign. They know that if it was an honest campaign on both sides that they are finished. So as they have been doing to him for 8 years they needed to find dishonest ways to prevent the people from choosing the president that they want. And that's what this was.
This trial tells us a lot more about how desperate the Democrats are than it does about President Trump. It's a despicable assault on this country.
The Democrats think they are very clever. But they just handed the election to President Trump. The people will not tolerate this assault on liberty in America. President Trump will have the last laugh.
A show trial is a type of trial where there is not the slightest need for evidence. It's a show put on to reaffirm the absolute authority of a totalitarian state. Its sole purpose is to shame the defendants and intimidate potential dissidents.
Due process of law is application by the state of all legal rules and principles pertaining to a case so all legal rights that are owed to a person are respected.
Justice respected Donald Trump's right to a due process just as if he had been any other US citizen. Oh, you think that I'm wrong? Prove it.
Trump, however, has shown countless times that he doesn't respect the United States and its laws. Plus, he's a student of Roy Cohn: the most evil sack of shit to ever called itself a lawyer. He who was himself a specialist of making a mockery out of justice: anything goes in order to win. Ever heard of McCarthyism? It's so clear, once you read or heard even just a little about Cohn's m. o. that's he's just mindlessly copying him. He's not smart enough to adapt and improvise.
You're an idiot if you believe that trump is telling the truth.
You're an even bigger idiot if you know that trump is lying, but think that the fascist, putin-inspired state he wants to set up (if elected) will solve all of america's problem or give you any kind of empowerement.
Yup!
None of that is true. None.
@Danzigdawson 💯❤️👍🏻👊🏻
@Danzigdawson correct!!!
It's a wonderful day for America. Laws DO apply to everyone. It's about time the fat orange moron learned that. The judge did a great job weeding out all the weak minded cult followers to prevent them from interfering with the trial. It's not political when they're guilty. It's because he committed a crime and should be punished for it. He's not above the law and the constitution doesn't claim that previously being president or running for president makes you immune. Thank you to everyone involved in the trial for upholding our Constitution.
that's not hard weed out such kind in NYC...
Now if they could just go collect the taxes Mrs Daniels probably never paid on that $130k... and all the other hush money, bribe money, collect taxes from all the cash businesses not paying taxes, they'd have a wonderfully large budget to pay for housing for all undocumented immigrants. win win... I say, get to work... and do something useful.
we’ll see who has the last laugh
@WindSwept
That's just it! No one can even name it because it is still unkonwn!
The things he was charged with were all low level recordkeeping crimes... all misdemeanors and all of them with an expired statue of limitation. They never named the "felony" committed nor produced a single piece of evidence for it during the entire trial! No one can even name the felony he allegedly committed! I don't think there has ever been a case this corrupt in the history of the country. They KNOW it will be overturned on appeal, but they don't care because by the time the appeal takes place they will already have used it to take him out of the running and to try to prevent people from being able to choose the president they want.
These are EVIL people.
No surprise.
I don't think anything will happen though. America loves to coddle criminal white oldies.
Well, ok. Something will happen. America's downfall and the destabilization of the globe - but when a superpower elects a broke ass felon who sucks Putin's balls, what do you think would happen?
Opinion
83Opinion
My opinion is it makes Biden look weak and could end up biting Democrats in the butt. I'm not voting for the conman either way, so I could care less.
@Amy10223 It's not Trump being a supposed felon, it's the fact that Democrats waited close to election time to convict him. As an independent, I have to disagree with it making Biden look appealing, my opinion, many independents feel it makes Biden look weak, as it gives the impression that Biden is too weak to beat Trump at the ballot box so he has to beat him through the courts. No amount begging and pleading will ever get me to vote blue again. I'm done with the corrupt DNC and voting blue no matter who. If Biden loses, it's no one's fault except the DNC, who yet again rigged their primary for a shitty candidate who has a worse favorability then Trump. I'll be proudly voting for Kennedy in November and could care less what other's think as I would have stayed home if he wasn't in the race. FYI, based on Zogby 50-state Poll, Biden loses to Trump weather Kennedy is in the race or not, in fact if Kennedy wasn't in the race, Trump would lose by a larger margine.
The Democrat's waited to convict him? It took the courts that time to convict him, not the Democrats. This has been going on for a loooooong time. You're voting for Kennedy? Good luck. His own family wouldn't vote for him, as is Mary Trump, who knows her uncle well. Also, Biden isn't a "shitty" candidate in my view, only in your view and those who prefer to vote for a man convicted on 34 counts. Biden will also kick the shit outta the orange orangutan 's ass again--for the second time.
@Amy10223 Yes the Democrats did wait to convict him, they had plenty of time to convict, but waited close to election time. Yes, I'm proudly voting for Kennedy, so are many other's I know, were done with the corrupt uniparty. That whole, his own family won't vote for him? That's just lies being spewed by MSM to make Kennedy look bad. Yes a few family members out of over 100 does support Biden, and most of them are on his pay roll. Many family members not only support Kennedy, but work for his campaign. Enough with the only people who view Biden as shitty are Trump supporters. Here's a novel idea that's going to make your head explode, many of us independents think both Trump and Biden are equally shitty. As an EX Democrat, I have to honestly say Biden isn't kicking no one's ass, he's is that bad of a candidate, he can't handle debating in front of a live audience, Trump's not much better as he hastily agreed to the debate rules out of fear he'd have to debate Kennedy. Biden is also afraid to debate Kennedy, other wise he wouldn't threaten to boycott the debate if Kennedy was include, which he probably will as he's on track to meet both the polling and ballot access qualification.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoOYokbgjCg
. You lost me here, buddy. Democrats do not run courts! And by the way---the point of this whole thing is NOT a thing about Reps or Dems--it's about a man who bought his way into the presidency. He covered up a bad deed so that this would not affect the people casting their votes for him. How blind can you be?
As for Kennedy--there's no way he's going to win. When a person's family speaks badly about him--there's truth in it no matter how pretty you want to paint the picture. You think they're lies about him? Nope. From the start they were saying what a bad influence he is.
@Amy10223 I don't watch, FOX, CNN or MSNBC, so 100% chance I'm not blind to the truth. Trump did not buy his way to the presidency, he ran as a joke candidate, then Hillary Clinton and the DNC along with various media outlets, through the Pied Piper campaign, legitimized and elevated Trumps campaign so he'd win the Republican primary so November would be a cake walk win for Hillary. Hillary and the DNC not only actively worked behind the scenes to help Trump win the republican primary, they cheated Bernie Sanders out of the Democratic nomination, cause "her turn" was more important then beating Trump, which by they way poll after poll showed Sanders doing better against Trump then Hillary. Do you not understand only a few out of over 100 family members have talked badly about Kennedy? Does every single family member of yours agree with you 100%? As stated before, Anthony Shriver along with many other family members not only support Kennedy, but work for his campaign. I wouldn't too sure about Kennedy not winning, everyone said in 2016, Trump had no chance of winning. Maybe instead of watching cable news like CNN and MSNBC, actually do your research. My elderly father was originally against Kennedy and believed the lies he seen on TV, after watching various unedited interviews and campaign events, he's fully onboard with Kennedy. Damn shame, Republican and Democrat voters buy it to MSM lies making them too blind to see that both parties are 2 sides of the same coin, separated my a few social issues :(
No, I am saying he bought himself into the presidency when he paid Stormy Daniels in order to keep her quiet about their affair.
I believe Bernie was cheated out of the voting, yes. I wanted him, and not Hillary.
Maybe--not all of Kennedy's family wants anyone to know how they really feel. The brave ones have come out and talked, much like Mary Trump. I don't like his ideas/beliefs.
I was a Trump supporter in 2016 and heavily regretted the decision by 2018 when he saw none of the legislation that I supported was going through… 2020 I voted for President Biden and I don’t regret that decision since he got the legislation that I wanted done and more.
Politics aside, those jurors had pressure from Trump supporters sending death threats to the courthouse, showing up everyday, Republican politicians breathing down their neck, relentless media coverage, Truth Social threats & rants, and Trump suggesting audibly that he wanted it to end in a hung jury… No matter what the decision was going to be, it was already going to see partial. If they say “NOT GUILTY” they played the Trumpism MAGA Card, if they say “GUILTY” they played the Soros Demoncrat Card… It was a lose lose however they stood by the evidence, testimony, and defense’s arguments as well as the prosecution’s arguments to reach a verdict of Guilty of all 34 counts in a NYC Courthouse on May 30th, 2024 beyond a reason of a doubt. I thank them for their service, it was no easy task and they stood by the law, even if some people don’t like the result.
I would like to say the whole crime was mainly down to reembuersement from the bank for a ‘legal expense’ to Michael Cohen which was actually to pay off Stormy Daniels and Donald J Trump actually admitted in the courthouse during a few of his rants claiming simply labeling it a ‘legal expense’ isn’t a crime when in reality it is since it is lying about what the money will be used for then proceeded to falsify business records to hide the intent of the money. However the jury never heard that piece and still landed a guilty verdict so, he definitely was guilty and no doubt about it.
God Bless America, God Bless You The Reader, Idc what politics or policies you support… I just ask you to stand with Law & Order and abide by the laws as they follow, thank you. Can’t wait for the Hunter trial for guilty!
It's hilarious that they took the bait... Now
1. Presidents and Former Presidents can be impeached
2. Presidents and Former Presidents can be forced to reveal tax and business records
3. Presidents and Former Presidents lose executive privilege
4. Presidents and Former Presidents lose attorney-client privilege
5. Presidents and Former Presidents can be forced to release private phone records and text messages
6. Presidents and Former Presidents can have their homes raided by the FBI

11. VP no longer has authority to question validity of disputed electoral votes
12. The losing party no longer has authority to submit contingent electors when results are disputed
13. Presidents and Former Presidents don't have Presidential Immunity
You know how fucked Obama is? Biden? Bush? Clinton? Carter? They're all toast.
Do you actually think that reasonable people care if Obama, Biden, Bush, Clinton, Carter are tried in a court of law for whatever crime they may or may not have commited, provided that there's solid, undeniable evidence and due process?
Most people aren't in a cult and live in something called reality.
@Danzigdawson I guess you missed the part about losing their rights to a right to a jury trial, losing their First Amendment right to free speech, and being subpoenaed by partisan committees. Think military tribunals. They all hang.
@Danzigdawson In the United States, military tribunals are authorized by Congress, and the president has the power to convene them. What do you think happens DAY 1?
@Danzigdawson You lefties are going to be crying to high heaven...

@Danzigdawson You'll sure will... You already did.
rumble.com/...s-funeral-a-shocking-revelation.html
To me, it's really screwed up and shows how screwed up our society is. I could give a long list of why... here's a few examples...
He should have been found guilty of being stupid... attempting to convince an untrustworthy woman to stay quiet. That is the definition of stupid and my highest concern in regards to him taking power. THAT IS the issue that needs addressed.
Would have been so easy to say "This is for services rendered..."... buy a painting from her, or her car. Trump has given $100k+ to others for not much reason, just document it and be clear. If caught, confess and ask for forgiveness. It is so much easier.
There are so many lessons in this and I just hope people get the lessons, not just the drama, which is all it is. Nobody... and I mean nobody cares about this unless they want him out of office.
And that's the funny thing... this was all about hiding "cheating on his wife" from "church goers" so he doesn't lose that vote. If this was a minster of a mega church, probably be the end of his tenure. But all this has only solidified that base. Amazing right? If someone cheated on the wife with a porn star, paid them to stay quiet... you'd think it would turn some people off. Nope... they are all the more going to press that red button maybe even biting their tongue.
And they will do that when he is clearly an idiot at times. "May we live in interesting times", as the Chinese say.
And the other problem is, he can't admit he's an idiot. That is the legit psych issue so many have and it's a real one.
But still... what does this alone change? nothing...
"Scotty... Beam me up... faaaaast..."
I wonder if this is bad for many women as well. Consider how many women in the past could "extort" $ for prior acts of shame. Now, the payor will be much more cautious.
This sort of thing happens in business daily, not necessarily though around politics. People get paid off to not talk... including torture, deaths, knowledge, etc.. I don't see that changing.
Other crimes committed:
For unlawful carnal knowledge - isn't that one still on the books?
This is New York being screwed up Not the rest of America which is nonthing new or unexpected @lightbulb27
New York has long been a excessively corrupt, and abusive political cesspool for
The New York's legal system in particularly is basically built by their politicians for lawyers because in New York they are really largely one in the same. This is why New York by far has more lawyers per capita than any other state and their court is routinely abusive like this.
The laws and 'courts' of that state are set up for lawful to help empower and enrich said lawyers at everyone else's expense. It is soo profitable for lawyers that New York has by far more lawyers per person than any other state. They even have twice as many per person as California, anther state with a very abusive legal system.
www.statista.com/.../
New York has been corrupt for far longer than California.
@monorprise You make a good point I was not thinking of.
@monorprise So you are a NYer? How did you come by this knowledge of the NY legal system?
@DrPepper12 I read a lot of history involving New York and their legal system and seen the numbers some of which I referenced.
Its not exactly hard to find. California is on its way to walking in New York's footsteps, but California is many decades behind.
It is unfortunate but this political persecution and abuse of the law is going to cost New Yorker lot of money. Even more than their prior corruption of the joke they call a "legal" systems. The State has basically made it very dangerous to do business there.
If the supposed incidents had not happened prior to the 2016 election I would say it was Donald Trump's own fault in part for remaining in the State of New York.
It has been fairly obvious this is where the State of New York was going for years now. Thou Perhaps not so much before 2016.
@monorprise There are a lot of lawyers in New York because there's a high demand for it, considering the population, the headquarters of many businesses, the city's status as the financial capital of the US, etc.
Cite documented, specific examples of corruption or legal system abuse in the state of NY, excluding anything that's related to Trump, in recent history (within the last 20-30 years or so).
@monorprise are you from NY?
@Danzigdawson That's nonsense California and Texas have as many Fortune 500 Companies but California has less than half as many lawyers. Texas has less than 1/3rd.
www.statista.com/.../
www.pottsalc.com/united-states-attorneys-map/
New York politics in general is corrupt:
www.politifact.com/.../
The State's laws protect their corrupt judges:
www.nbcnews.com/.../robed-secrecy-judges-accused-misconduct-can-dodge-public-scrutiny-rcna7638
@monorprise Fair enough. However it take it that you trust these sites and their analyses?
How about you read a little bit about trump:
www.politifact.com/.../?page=3&q=Trump
www.politifact.com/.../
www.politifact.com/.../
@monorprise And about McGuire... don't you think that in trump's trial case, a judge, presiding over a landmark, historical trial that was already (falsely) declared a show trial before it took place will just do whatever he wants without fear of being scrutinized?
McGuire apparently jails people who slightly irrates him. Trump spent the whole trial talking shit about the judge and his daughter, before a worldwide audience, claiming countless times that it was a witch hunt and a show trial. He even had a little sow pen provided for him right outside the courthouse to allow him to lie to the media.
What did he get? Just insignificant fines and a gag order which he violated everytime he could.
@monorprise and apparently, the corruption perception index crashed under trump, only to recover slightly under Biden.
https://www.transparency.org/en/cpi/2023/index/usa
@Danzigdawson Sorry to say I don't trust theses sites I think they are actually understating the degree of corruption. Their agenda would have it that if they were going to lie it would be to favor New York politics not oppose it.
@Danzigdawson Given how the 60% + of the new media was running a constant russiagate and its unending investigation I am not suppised that a lot of people would believe there was more corruption:
www.transparency.org/.../how-cpi-scores-are-calculated
Proceeded corruption has little to do with actual corruption and everything to do with news.
@monorprise Why do you cite them if you don't trust them?
@Danzigdawson I trust people to of limited strategic intelligence in given circumstances to push their own agenda.
It is that same agenda is actually served in downplaying theses numbers not overplaying them. So no I don't trust that theses are any less than given but i would be open to believing they are more.
@monorprise do you have any IDEA what it takes to make accountancy, marketing and finance operate? Ya know, the areas where NY controls global capital?
@DrPepper12 In fact I do the finance being the most critical holding firms in the City of New York close to the New York Federal Reserve and its stock market.
One day we will be free of New York's advantage in this area.
@monorprise yes. Correct. It will be Hong Kong or Bejing. Remember it used to be Amsterdam then London. Nothing lasts forever!
The grand jury made the right decision to take it to trial and the right choice was made to convict him. He takes no responsibility for his actions, he calls the whole trial and conviction "a scam"
I am amazed at what little his followers know, saying the Democratic party is involved. No... the grand jury are the ones who took it to trial. It astonishes me at how undereducated his followers are.
Then these people think they're trying to prevent him from being elected. He broke the law, he got caught, and now he's paying the price. If any one of us would commit a felony and get caught, we would go to prison also.
His supporters are dumb enough to believe anything he says, and I do mean ANYTHING. This is the same man that said global warming is a hoax, and his followers beleived it. Uh, no, lol, it's not a hoax. Glibal warming occurs when polutens get trapped in the earths atmosphere and it can be quite deadly, especially to ocean life.
It would be nice to see these people pick up a book and learn something lol.
The world will be safer once he sentenced because he'sa danger poisoning people's minds with nonsense. Honestly, I'm surprised it took this long for him to be indicted, lol.
You make me 😂
Everybody knew this was lawfare to begin with.
I know democrats are giddy but don’t get too excited. The vast majority of people had their minds made up about voting for Trump regardless the verdict. You are either liberal and hate him and could care less if this was a fair trial or not. Or your conservative and you knew it was bullshit from day one.
So if you are “happy” about this don’t get too excited. Trump is not disqualified from the election and Biden is HATED right now from a majority of Americans. The economy and inflation being the key issue. This isn’t going to shift polling numbers like democrats hope it will.
@goaded I am surprised you are on GAG right now. I figured you would be. busy jerking off to the news. You must have quite a life obsessing about American politics when you don’t live here.
But don’t get too excited yet. Biden is so beyond horrible that voters may not want another 4 years of gross senile incompetence, hyperinflation, a flood gate of illegal aliens and more chaos abroad with weak foreign policy.
It’s not over until Lizzo sings.
@monorprise he’s not even American. He lives in Germany. Yet he incessantly interjects himself with leftist USA politics every chance he gets on GAG. He’s either a communist operative and/or has no life. Most likely both.
@goaded pay attention to your f*cking country for once. You make me ashamed of my German heritage.
Im happy. The rule of law was upheld!
@DrPepper12 and meanwhile Biden isn’t being tried for felony mishandling of misinformation because according to Ben Hur he’s “too old and forgetful to be convicted by a grand jury” but it’s okay that he’s our sitting f*cking president and commander in chief.
So seriously @DrPepper12 do you really want another 4 years under the Biden administration? I doubt you care about the border crisis and foreign wars.
But you should care about hyperinflation. Unless you have a government job and/or are rolling dough you should be feeling the pinch with hyperinflation. The rain falls on democrats and republicans alike. And IT IS MOSTLY BIDEN’S FAULT. His fault he crushed domestic oil/energy production which skyrockets shipping and handling costs. His fault he passed bills to spend insane amounts of money Americans don’t have for bullshit most Americans don’t want or need (inflation “reduction” act my ass).
Be happy all you want about Trump being convicted in a kangaroo court with trumped specious charges. But Biden’s in office right now and his problems aren’t going away. He’s isn’t getting any younger and sure as hell isn’t gritting any smarter.
Do you really want another four years of that? And I have a haunch you might be African-American. If so, do you really believe in all his pandering?

So democrats need to quit getting their keyboards dirty from all the Vaseline they have been using from jerking off to the conviction news. And @goaded your bullshit claim that “republicans will be less likely to vote for Trump if he’s convicted” is exactly wrong by recent polls. Not that your opinion should matter anyway. Recent polling data is right there in the article and CNBC is not known as a conservative outlet.
Yeah, they took the bait, but the real reason Biden wasn't indicted was because the report says there were “innocent explanations” that Hur “cannot refute.”
Page 6 of the report: "In addition to this shortage of evidence, there are other innocent explanations for the documents that we cannot refute."
Page 11 of Hur's report: "It is not our role to assess the criminal charges pending against Mr. Trump, but several material distinctions between Mr. Trump's case and Mr. Biden's are clear. Unlike the evidence involving Mr. Biden, the allegations set forth in the indictment of Mr. Trump, if proven, would present serious aggravating facts. Most notably, after being given multiple chances to return classified documents and avoid prosecution, Mr. Trump allegedly did the opposite. According to the indictment, he not only refused to return the documents for many months, but he also obstructed justice by enlisting others to destroy evidence and then to lie about it. In contrast, Mr. Eiden turned in classified documents to the National Archives and the Department of Justice, consented to the search of multiple locations including his homes, sat for a voluntary interview. and in other ways cooperated with the investigation."
Your ad hominems are pathetic, by the way. And I will be voting next week.
@Filthy_Immigrant Ad hominem is a fallacy; using it means your argument has no merit. I'd rather have politicians that don't break laws and who care about my country, not just themselves.
@goaded why are you so fixated on American politics? Why? You ALWAYS barge in whenever an American political issue comes up on GAG. It’s not like you comment about it once in a blue moon but you constantly jump in.
Why waste your time? Do you just enjoy trolling conservative Americans? You don’t have to deal with direct fall out of American policies. You are not even from Mexico where American policies have a heavier impact.
Sometimes I wonder if you are an operative for the CCP or something.
@blueonblack22 because he knows that under trump Germany and the rest of Europe will not get free stuff from us.
@Filthy_Immigrant You're describing Trump, not Biden.
@blueonblack22 I focus (on this platform) on American politics because that's where the greatest danger to the world is right now, and because that's where people are telling the most ridiculous lies about pretty much everything.
If it's trolling to point out lies and misinformation, then I'm trolling, but I think the trolls are the ones spreading the lies and projecting their own feelings onto the opposition.
For example: "You are either liberal and hate him and could care less if this was a fair trial or not."
That's not true. People can dislike or even hate Trump and still demand that his trials should be fair. We can see he committed the crimes he's accused of. We can also see a judge intentionally slow walking one trial and SCOTUS delaying the election interference case by seriously considering if a president should be totally immune from prosecution for anything they do while in office. (The answer has always been "no", but at least one justice flies pro-Trump flags and claims he's impartial.)
@Filthy_Immigrant Iran? What money? Ukraine? The whole western world. Israel? Every president since Ike.
I was referring to your "just to increase his other incomes" claim. Trump's obsessed with money, and will happily rip people off to get it, Biden isn't.
@goaded no he did not buddy, Trump was the only president to leave the White House broke compared to other before him. so go cope somewhere else
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_9VCWKloTg&t=316s
@goaded Trump could of deployed the department of justice to prosecute Hillary Clinton when he was in office but choose not to. He even joked about doing that in the 2016 presidential debates but again he didn’t. Reason being it’s a very bad look for America to have politicians use lawfare to prosecute political opposition.
Biden greenlit the DOJ to file these specious charges against Trump (and Obama greenlit the FBI to investigate Trump).
Also about you believing the “Trump is the greatest threat to the world right now” is absolutely exaggerated nonsense. Yes Trump is blowhard. No filter. I never liked his rhetoric either. I personally believe he would have gotten re-elected in 2020 he would just stfu and deleted his twitter account.
But did he start WW3 during his first term? Was he even the remotely close to the “orange hitler” were all ranting and raving about. We had relative world peace during his first term. We had the Abraham accords in the Middle East (which the mass media COMPLETELY downplayed), a robust economy, peace talks with North Korea. And the COVID pandemic wasn’t even remotely Trump’s fault. That was an extraneous event which is solely the blame of China.
Speaking of China the greatest geo political to the world isn’t America at all. It is without a doubt PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF CHINA. I could give you long list of the damage they have inflicted on the USA and worldwide from fentanyl to COVID to Hong Kong to threatening Taiwan.
But everybody gets hush hush about that because China has bought off a lot of powerful figures. Also leftists are all hush hush about criticizing China because they have warm views on communism.
@Filthy_Immigrant Maybe if he'd managed two terms. :)
This is another example of people projecting their feelings onto others. There's a difference between writing memoirs or making speeches and selling over-priced bibles and shoes. (And there's a good chance Trump was lying about his wealth before being elected.)
@goaded "This is another example of people projecting their feelings onto others." this exactly what you're doing buddy, I just showed you how all of our recent president left the white house multibillionaires yet trump the only Multi BILLIONAIRE to be president left the white house with less than half the salary he entered.
and you know why this happened? because he used his own salary to fix the problems in our country. contrary to what the news you masturbate to (like @blueonblack22 said) has been claiming. you been so hooked to that news that now you've been conditioned to believe that Trump is the greedy asshole they say he is.
but now your cognitive dissonance won't let you rest on that reality. till then like we've been telling, go fucking worry about your country and leave American politics that doesn't pertain to you alone
@blueonblack22 That you think that a president should determine what the DoJ does speaks volumes. It had already decided there wasn't enough evidence to prosecute Clinton before the election.
None of the charges were "specious", they've all been cleared by grand juries of American citizens and a trial jury has found him guilty on all counts of the only case so far to go to trial.
Trump tried to end democracy in the US. The world needs democracies to stand up to dictatorships like China and Russia. "He didn't end the world yet" is not as impressive as you seem to think it is. You also seem to be downplaying his disastrous handling of Covid.
Projection: "Also leftists are all hush hush about criticizing China because they have warm views on communism."
I've not seen a single Democratic political leader praising China or Xi the way I've seen many Republicans praising Putin (didn't lawmakers spend July 4 in Moscow a few years ago? Trump loves Xi and Kim).
Your side likes dictators, we like democracy.
@goaded “ This is another example of people projecting their feelings onto others. ”. The Olympics had a mental gymnastics competition you could have won a gold medal. I really like how you conveniently side stepped everything I said about China.
@Filthy_Immigrant we are literally wasting our time debating with him. Sure he speaks like he’s educated but there are plenty of “highly educated” communist marxists out there. He literally lives in an alternative reality. And this reality needs a conjured up evil force so they can feel justified being part of “the resistance”. And their imagined evil villain is Trump. They also use him as excuse to justify acting out on their deranged movements (BLM, metoo, defund the police). Trump once famously quoted that “it’s not me they are after but you” and he’s right. They want to destroy western civilization as we know it all in pursuit of some ill defined nebulous concept of a “utopia”. This exactly how communist dictatorships were started up.
The thing is the longer you defy reality the harder reality is to live in. Some moderate democrats are waking up to this when it comes to inflation and economy. Trying to defy the laws of the economy is like trying to defy the laws of gravity. What goes up must go down. And the naive liberals got a brutal wake up call to that. But the sociopaths keep on trying to DICTATE that everybody is fine and we both know it’s not.
But the so called “educated” leftists like goaded are either mentally deranged since they are focused on a false sense of a “utopia on earth” OR they are sociopaths. And I truly believe a lot of democratic leaders are sociopaths just like most communist dictators were.
@Filthy_Immigrant LMAO! "all of our recent president left the white house multibillionaires". Nope, not one. You really think Trump's forgoing $400k a year made up for the millions he got from foreign governments and the government money spent on his resorts for SS protection?
@blueonblack22 "you conveniently side stepped everything I said about China" except for the parts where I talked about needing democracies to stand up to them, and how the left doesn't like their leaders, Trump does.
China isn't a problem if there's a strongly democratic US to stand up to them. Trump doesn't want a strongly democratic US, he wants to be like Putin, Kim, and Xi.
I assume there's no point in reading your love letter to @Filthy_Immigrant
@blueonblack exactly let’s let him continue to drown in his own barrel of horseshit. After all we already know he’s not even American. And wherever he’s from his life must be really empty if he’s has this much time and energy to masturbate to so called news on another country that’s 5,000 miles sea from where he lives
@Filthy_Immigrant you have to remember that the American mainstream is broadcasting their bullshit worldwide giving Europeans and other foreigners an extremely warped perspective of our country. Factor in Hollywood being broadcast worldwide and it’s even worse.
Germany has gone far left though. I visited Berlin 3 years ago and I noticed the zeitgeist was extremely liberal.
*mainstream media
@goaded You don't prosecute your only real political enemies in a free country.
At best that just alienates the justice system, at worse its used to make yourself an effective dictator.
I know Germans don't have much problem with dictators, but then again Germans don't understand the value and nature of a jury trial either and its relation to where you choose to live.
@monorprise Ah, a Big Lie. You're pretending that the charges are trumped up, when they've all been reviewed by five grand juries of US citizens and a criminal court jury has found Trump guilty in the one trial that has come to trial despite all Trump's delay tactics, as will the others if they're ever allowed to come to trial.
@goaded I don't need to pretend anyone who has read them knows it. The fact that you can get democrats to go along doesn't change the expired statue of limitations, the lack of evidence, the contradictory statements, the admitted lying by the Start witness, the lack of supporting crime, as well as the 6th amendment violation even defining a supporting crime to defend against.
I DO care about the illegal immigration- NOT the border as much. Visa overstays and employers should be prosecuted or sent packing.
I do care about Ukraine. We gave them security guarantees when they gave up their nukes when the USSR broke up. And then we failed to defend them for Crimea and here we are.
It's not hyperinflation. It's standard inflation. Now, how is Biden responsible FOR WORLDWIDE inflation? Also, any student of history KNOWS that inflation follows a pandemic as sure as the sun rises in the east.
What programs specifically were misspent on?
Trump was afforded due process for crimes he committed. Not much else to say.
Why would my race (which doesn't exist by the way) be a factor?
Even if that were true, how do you explain the average 18% vote for Nikki Haley after she dropped out?
@DrPepper12 alright that was a thoughtful response. I will give you that.
But honestly when it comes to brass tacks who had America in better shape with effective policy? Again we are talking about POLICY here not personality (like Biden has great personality anyway). Right now prices on average are 19% HIGHER since Biden was inaugurated. The after the pandemic reopening our economy was supposed to surge back. Instead it’s stagnated. And yes unemployment is low but that does NOT mean everybody isn’t struggling. A huge part of this is Biden FORCING his “green new deal” bullshit. He’s crushing domestic oil production which in turn causes energy rates to skyrocket.
Also who forced the calamitous pull out of Afghanistan (funny how quickly the mass media forgot about that)? That likely emboldened Putin to invade the Ukraine by the way. Because America demonstrated fecklessness on the world stage.
I won’t bring up race with you again. But the DNC’s pandering to minorities disgusts me but more and more of them are waking up to his crap. The took BLM and RAN WITH IT in 2020. I won’t get into DEI but Biden did fully embrace is radical flank. When he embraced trans mutilation surgery on children he completely off the deep end (imagine if he said that back in 2008).
He’s no moderate.
@blueonblack22 very true. lets not foget that Trump is a bigger threat to people in Europe for the fact that he did not and will not give them the privilege to live off us for free.
@Filthy_Immigrant Putin might of thought twice about invading the Ukraine in 2022 if Trump was still in office. When that happened Putin shut off oil exports to Germany literally doubling their energy costs overnight because Germany is part of NATO and shipped military equipment to the Ukraine. But Trump wouldn’t of made the calamitous pull out of the Ukraine. Yes he did make a deal with the Taliban (not crazy about that). But he wouldn’t of f*cked it all up the way Biden did and gross incompetence on the world stage. THAT EMBOLDENED PUTIN.
Funny how quickly the mass media forgot about the Afghanistan calamity. Quickly brushed it under the rug after 3 months of coverage.
Seriously all these leftist morons are so fixated on trump derangement syndrome and who serious wants another 4 years of a already beyond senile Biden? He will be 82 if he wins re-election. Eighty fucking two. Yes trumps up there too but at least he can speak coherently for longer then 2 minutes.
*** But Trump wouldn’t of made the calamitous pull out of the Afghanistan.
I swear GAG does all these major updates including these stupid AI responses. But they STILL won’t let you edit your typos. Smdh. Anyway.
Ok. Lots to unpack there.
Inflation is simply beyond any POTUS (see Reagan's war on the Fed for reference) and doubly so after a pandemic. Even Jesus Christ couldn't prevent inflation after that pent up demand and supply chain disruption.
Ok. Green new deal. So far it's largely aspirational and not ready for prime time. The fact is it IS the future so best try to accommodate ourselves now since China, despite being polluter #1, is light years ahead of us in green tech AND the rare earth elements to make it happen. Their tentacles into Africa are truly the stuff of American policy maker nightmares.
The USA America IS energy independent thanks to fracking and shale oil. Same as we were under Trump and some of Obama terms. Keystone was a import pipeline from Canada anyway and therefore NOT energy independence despite what Sean Hannity says.
Afghanistan, Somalia, Iraq, Kuwait, Grenada have ALL been embassing CLUSTERFUCKS that did NOTHING to advance American interests and exposed us as feckless, incompetent and unreliable. Afghanistan pull out was a DISASTER just like it began. Tens of thousands of Americans dead 1991-2024 with NOTHING to show for it. Makes my blood boil TBH.
Ukraine. We gave them SECURITY GUARANTEES just like Taiwan and Israel when they, at our INSISTENCE, gave up their nukes upon breakup of USSR. What did we do? NOTHING when madman Putin annexed Crimea!! Our word is useless and the world knows it now (Thanks a lot Obama). And here we are with Putin slapping us with 10" of limp dick in Ukraine begging for NATO offensive involvement. Obama FUCKED our foreign policy!! Bastard.
Trans bullshit doesn't interest me. there's 2 genders. End of conversation.
Trans bullshit doesn't interest me. there's 2 genders. End of conversation.
BLM? Anyone who doesn't see there are institutional, societal, socio-economic barriers for minorities is a dumfuk or a liar. The problem is, how do we fix it? Reparations? HELL FUCKING NO!! That's reverse racism. Affirmative action? Nope! Same thing!! A real investment in minority communities via the tax code and federal-state block grants? Yes! It will piss off both sides but it's the only way out.
Hope I answered your concerns. It's nice to meet Intelligent people I respect here!
Dnc pandering is politics as usual. If you don't know who the mark is 5 minutes after the deal, guess what asshole? It's you! Same for the born again Christo-fascists. They're getting played by trump and begging "please sir may I have another!"
@monorprise You're still pretending that the charges are trumped up, when they've all been reviewed by five grand juries of US citizens and a criminal court jury has found Trump guilty in the one trial that has come to trial despite all Trump's delay tactics, as will the others if they're ever allowed to come to trial?
The prosecution had to convince a jury beyond a reasonable doubt, and they did it. Even the juror who got their news from Trump's own megaphone.
@goaded makes you wonder, why hasn't Clinton been prosecuted the same way for comitting the same crime?
www.tiktok.com/.../7375178932020104478
@Filthy_Immigrant I stopped reading goaded responses about 3 comments ago. Don’t engage him. He’s not worth anybody’s time. He doesn’t belong here.
@blueonblack22 yeah I'm gonna do the same out of respect since its your post but I just wanted to make him feel like a even bigger scumbag before I officially ignore him
@Filthy_Immigrant he feeds on attention so don’t give any.
If he was actually an American I might read what he is saying. But he’s not worth anybody’s time. I’m shocked that he was even honest in the first place about stating his true location in his profile. I wouldn’t be surprised he’s considering making a fake American profile to post all far left rhetoric if he hasn’t already.
He’s absolutely fixated on politics too. I can’t recall him ever commenting about non-political issues on GAG anywhere. He’s likely an operative.
@Filthy_Immigrant Calm down... It's not like you really have what it takes to debate with @goaded... or any other reasonable person, for that matter.
@Danzigdawson nobody gives a fuck about your opinion on others. now go be a cheerleader somewhere else
@Filthy_Immigrant Make me, shitheel.
@Danzigdawson you came on this thread way too late. Not going to engage you so please give it up.
You hate Trump? Happy he got convicted of a trumped up charge (pun intended). Suit yourself. But go troll somewhere else and kindly STFU.
Virtually NOBODY is “excited” about another 4 years of Biden. Not even most democrats.
@blueonblack22 this is another troll that has a tough time shutting up and he appears to be a long time lover of Goaded. so I suggest we mute this post otherwise these clowned up love birds are just gonna keep on flooding our notifications
@Filthy_Immigrant What are you talking about? Did Clinton pay off a porn star and hide the money trail by falsifying business records?
@Filthy_Immigrant @blueonblack22 Here's what I have so far, but I lost interest after it became clear that both of you don't know jack shit about anything, are mind-numbingly stupid and have made no intelligent or informed argument at all during this whole debate.
1. It started when @blueonblack22 claimed that this wasn't a fair trial and that Trump the criminal would have no problem defeating Biden because of the inflation. Along with it came a lame warning that this wouldn't affect his campaign... on the contrary.
2. @goaded reminded @blueonblack22 that a part of the republican crowd isn't as united behind Trump as @blueonblack22 wishes, especially after his conviction.
3. @blueonblack22 replied to this by accusing @goaded of having no life, "jerking off the news" and claiming again that Trump will win because of the economy, tensions around the globe and illegal aliens.
4. @monorprise shows up by using anecdotal evidence to condemn a whole system. Sure of himself, he goes on to claim that Trump's trial was a show trial.
5. At this point, @blueonblack22 is visibly pissed off over not much. He reveals that @goaded lives in another country, which apparently disqualifies said @goaded to speak about American politics, even though everyone on earth is affected by US politics, and can't do much about it if they don't live in the US. @blueonblack22 reveals his german heritage; of which he was proud before he knew @goaded. This is kind of suspicious considering his hatred of the left.
6. @DrPepper12 chimes in and says "Im happy. The rule of law was upheld!".
7. These 9 word trigger @blueonblack22 beyond reason. He insinuates that Biden has mishandled classified information in the same way Trump did, which is only partly true. Leading with that, he claims that Biden should be convicted of the same crime Trump is regarding those documents. However, Biden cooperated with officials from day one in that matter, while Trump defiantly ignored all requests by the Library of Congress to return the documents to avoid prosecution... until an FBI search of his estate was necessary to get them back.
@blueonblack22 accuses @DrPepper12 of not caring about the border and foreign wars.
@blueonblack22 then blames the rise of inflation on Biden's administration for the most part. The present rise in inflation has its roots in the COVID-19 pandemic, which Trump grossly mismanaged at every level. At the national level, restrictions were lifted, the demand for goods increased and suppliers couldn't keep up. Also, Putin invaded Ukraine and sanctions were rightly put on Russia for its 1939-style invasion of a sovereign country. Statistics shows, however that the inflation rate has been slowly and more or less steadily decreasing since its peak of June 2022. It is now still a little high but increasingly closer to the normal rate. It's also worth to know that the inflation rate actually increased under Trump, when compared with statistics from the Obama years.
Then, @blueonblack22 claims again, falsely, that Trump's trial was a show trial and "suspects" @DrPepper12 of being African-American, which in his mind, would change the whole game for some reason.
8. @blueonblack22, still very much triggered, admits that Breitbart and Fox News are shit. Then he cites an article which he apparently thinks proves that Trump will win next November, even though it's not about that at all. The article is about well known phenomena, such as the fact that idiots who support Trump will vote for him no matter what, with every setback cemeting their belief that Trump is god and a political martyr.
@blueonblack22 accuses every democrat reading his words to be chronic masturbators who soil their keyboards with vaseline. Who the fuck jerks off using vaseline in front of a desktop computer, in this day and age? Probably @blueonblack22 because he's too poor to buy a tablet/cell phone and KY, because he has sycophantly given away most of his savings to 'help' Trump, a billionaire.
@blueonblack22 goes on –with undeserved confidence– to say that the trial only made trump stronger, that the article he cited proves it and that @goaded's opinion doesn't matter, as if his own did.
9. @goaded explains the difference between Biden and Trump's mishandling of top secret files, which lies in the fact that Biden cooperated with authorities from the start, while Trump did not, challenging them to come and take them, which they did. He then calls @blueonblack22 on his numerous personal insults, which @blueonblack22 erroneously seem to believe to be valid arguments.
10. @Filthy_Immigrant chimes in and stupidly claims that @blueonblack22 destroyed @goaded with his insults and mostly baseless, easily dismissable claims.
11. @goaded rightly claims that ad hominems are not a receivable argument. He then insinuates that Trump cares only about himself and couldn't care less about his country.
12. Right after @goaded reminded that ad hominems are not valid arguments, @blueonblack22 comes up with yet another ad hominem type of rambling about how people outside the us who should have no opinion regarding American politics because it doesn't affect them as much as Mexico is. Is it unreasonable to believe that @blueonblack22 couldn't care less about a mexican's opinion on US politics? He then suspects @goaded in yet another ad hominem type of attack to be an operative of the Chinese Communist Party, which, as we all know, are hellbent to keep an effective opponent of their ally Putin and an opponent to illegal territorial expansion wars such as Biden in power.
13. @Filthy_Immigrant accuses a @goaded of not being right without providing much details about why he thinks that. He then suggests that Biden is getting personally rich from the war in Ukraine, and that he is, somehow... destroying Germany? Mm-k...
14. @Filthy_Immigrant goes on to say that Europe is freeloading off the US, which would not have happened under Trump. However, most of the government's funds spent providing arms to Ukraine is spent in the US, in the private sector, which in turn is one of many ways that helps to improve the economy and to reduce the inflation rate. Also, even Europe can use the help, they don't exactly depend on the US, financially speaking. Most European countries united against Putin are also spending a considerable amount of money to help Ukraine.
@Filthy_Immigrant forgets that Trump is Putin's little bitch and that he would have had no qualms about letting Putin do whatever he wants to do in Europe... but Europe would still have helped Ukraine in its fight. Russian military would have been just as incompetent if Trump had been in the white house. The war would have dragged on anyway, and even if Putin had managed to conquer Ukraine by now, he would be invading another neighboring country with Trump doing nothing about it like the little brown noser to the Kremlin that he is.
@Filthy_Immigrant @blueonblack22 And then I didn't really care. By that point, you had already proven, as I said, that you're both pretty stupid, gullible, uniformed and delusional.
@Danzigdawson OMG that was a fucking awesome precis! LMAO, and that's not an exaggeration!
@goaded hope you got some Vaseline leftover.
@Danzigdawson I don’t know you from f*cking Adam. But I do know goaded and I’ve been dealing with his political bullshit. I never see him comment on anything else non-polítical but whenever American politics comes up he immediately springs to action. I’m FED UP WITH HIM. And yes the fact he isn’t American, not qualified to vote here, doesn’t have to deal with what goes on here, has no real life objective experience living here ABSOLUTELY matters. He’s gets all his “education” about margins political issues from out mainstream media which broadcasts internationally.
But really @Danzigdawson. You start off lengthy diatribe with saying “but I lost interest after it became clear that both of you don't know jack shit about anything, are mind-numbingly stupid..”
I got to say way to start of an debate by hurling insults and labels. Your a liberal so I’m not surprised you care more about BEING right vs. WHAT is right. Seriously make sure you always pat yourself on the back.
But again why would I be interested in readying the rest of your rant when start of with an insult? Yes I told you earlier to GTFO of my thread. Not very nice but you did come to the scene late. But really did I start insulting you personally insulting by calling you a “mind numbingly stupid libtard” or something?
I didn’t read the rest of your rant by the way. Could care les. You accomplished nothing and if I’m brutally honest with myself I’m wasting my time too responding to you as well.
I guess you really do want a senile corrupt 82 year old to be re-elected in November. Let’s pretend hyperinflation, a stagnating economy, millions of ilegal immigrants sucking up tax payer money and horrid foreign policy isn’t a big deal at all.
@goaded As you been told many times a Jury and particularly a grand jury's idea of reasonable doubt is in said areas under said one sided circumstances an easily thing to get.
The New York Jury in both cases being at least 87%+ Democrats if not more were by no means his peers and wanted to convict Trump. As such i think it mattered not at all what they charged him with It was obvious he would be so declared guilty by the same.
In Georgia by contrast the charges have just been thrown out for the prosecutor in that case as with the New York cases failed to specify a crime. A jury nonetheless was swayed to charge him without one.
The ideological extremist that new York has long appointed to the New York courts creating the criminal situation of said city are no more likely to care about said fact of a need for a crime in Trump's case than they have in most of the sobers and murders caught red handed in their city.
To theses political ideologues it seems only to be the race and party which made them innocent or guilty alone.
***been dealing with goaded for years on GAG now
@monorprise I don't need you to tell me anything, I read reputable sources who understand that the justice system is generally effective.
87% of 12 means at least 1 or 2 Trump voters on the jury, especially as they were vetted by Trump lawyers. One of them even said he got all his news from Truth Social. They unanimously decided that Trump was guilty on all counts. Extremists are people like you who deny the evidence. The crime Trump was convicted of was the cover up.
"In Georgia by contrast the charges have just been thrown out" Bullshit. Some counts were, for technical reasons and can be re-filed, but the case is still ongoing.
@goaded best of luck. It takes a lot for me to block people. But no more. Deep down a part of you knows I have a point about you being a foreigner vs. a local when it comes to this debate.
But you are driving me nuts. Buy a one way ticket to a leftist run city in the USA. Maybe the ghetto part of south central LA, south Chicago, the shit stained streets of San Francisco or even my hometown of Denver Colorado.
Live there for a few years and then come back to post all your leftist political opinions on GAG.
Seriously just do it.
@monorprise most leftists only follow headlines about the trial and are low information and/or uneducated about what a truly insane criminal charge this was to being with. Then the “educated” leftist actually know this was a 100% bs charge as well but they don’t care either.
Trump could of prosecuted HRC when he was in office but choose not to because he knew it would be a bad look for the country. But the Biden administration is like the mafia turning to the joker in the 2008 Dark Knight movie (I used that analogy on other threads but not in this one yet). They are so desperate they turned to banana republic standards. But this is unprecedented. They have no idea what kind of Pandora’s box they opened.
Or an even scarier notion is they actually DO know this would result in chaos and they actually WANT the country to be further polarized. They NEED Trump do they can come up radical left movements like metoo, defundthepolice and BLM.
They are like little finger in the GOT series who believes “Chaos is a Ladder to move upwards”.
@blueonblack22 My "rant" actually was just a recap of what was said since the beginning (until i got thoroughly bored and unimpressed), in my own words and from my point of view.
I understand why you would see this as rant, though. You seem pretty unhinged... but trumpism is not about logic, planning for the future and making sensible choices. It's about feelings. That's why the whole "Trump 2020 and fuck your feelings" tag line is so fucking hilarious to me. It underlines both your loss of contact with reality and your obliviousness, as a group.
Trumpism is only about hatred of liberals, fear of change, rage for not being taken into account, even if you all don't actually deserve to be taken into account that much. You've been deceived: decades of cockroach-esque conservative radio hosts, fox news and republican politicians praised the "silent majority" (bullshit invented by Nixon to silence the anti-war peace movement), the blue or white collar tax-paying worker as national heroes. Little did you know that they never thought you were. And you're not. You're only people voting for them... because you're easy to get angry, and, hence, to manipulate. As Roger Stone said, hate is a much more powerful motivator than love. It's all there for you to see but you don't or you won't.
@blueonblack22 What's Trump program? Destroying wokism, whatever that means. God knows he'll need nothing less than absolute power to achieve this vague task (dictatorship, in his own words). Also, getting petty revenge like a 5 year-old child after a tantrum... and in case trump's not elected; start an ill-advised civil war with fat, bearded 35 year-old guys holding an AR-15 against the might of the US military.
You never question the fallacy behind all of this. Is there actually credible proof that democrats and liberals are evil scumbags who want to turn the US into a fascist state? No. There isn't.
There isn't just because it does not exist. And it does not exist because that's not what they're doing. But you don't know and don't care. You don't really know what fascism and socialism actually are anyway. You don't know what show trials and banana courts are in reality. You think you can apply those strong labels to everything you disapprove of or hate, but it just doesn't match.
Did you know that the Democratic party is actually considered, on the political spectrum, to be center-right on many issues and center-left on some others? They're not leftists and they're far from being far-left.
@blueonblack22 Please stop repeating trump's claims like a mindless machine. Of course, right now, in 2024, after he's been convicted, he never said he would like to see HRC in jail! And of course he's a hero who thought about america first. America's image on the world stage was priority number one to him. Remember when he was laughed at at the UN and he didn't even realize that people were laughing about him? As an obese, stupid, angry, impulsive, juvenile, stupid again, orange moron, he did a great many things to restore america's shining image around the world.
He did say that he would prosecute Hillary if elected, back in 2016, during the debate (the famous "you'd be in jail" line). He repeated that a few times, publicly, after being elected but he never actually did, like many others things he had promised to do. Because he's incompetent, stupid and lazy. He fails at everything he does, including actually taking steps to prosecute Hillary.
@Danzigdawson let’s say you are right about everything you wrote above (and you’re not) and I’m just some knuckle dragging MAGA hat wearing Neanderthal the way you believe that anyone who voted for Trump and/or say they are gong to vote for Trump is (and I am not). And let’s say this Stormy Daniels case was a fair and just trial and completely unimpeded by political (which it sure as hell wasn’t)
What’s your plan? Is your plan having a senile 82 year old Biden who has proceeded over hyperinflation, a border crisis and chaotic foreign policy for another 4 years? Is that your plan?
Prior to COVID Trump had America in excellent shape when came to economic policy, peace in the Middle East (funny how the mass media muted out the Abraham accords), peace talks with North Korea, no major overseas wars or conflicts and he was standing up to China. But people were acting deranged over his stupid tweets and rhetoric. Deranged over his personality.
But personality aside (like Biden has a wonderful personality anyway). Is your plan to re-elect Joe Biden for another 4 years? Just tell people the economy is fine, hyperinflation isn’t a problem, it’s fine to have millions of illegal immigrants flooding our borders (half of which are unemployed and reliant of tax payer money), fentanyl pouring in from China killing upwards of 100k Americans a year, etc?
I know Trump is no demigod. He can’t magically fix everything. But the Biden administration going to f*ck things up harder if they tried.
“It’s about the economy stupid”.
- James Carvelle. Chief campaign manager to Bill Clinton in 1992
“Never underestimate Joe Biden’s ability to f*ck things up.”
- Barack Obama (yes he really said that).
@blueonblack22
The state cases are ultimately inconsequential as all future president of both parties can simply be selected only from friendly states. We will just have a little more extreme and regional politics but nothing too bad.
The real problem that actually crosses the Rubicon is the federal case and its associated 'investigation' by raiding Mar a largo. That really did cross the Rubicon not merely in allow all future 'presidents' to persecute their politician enemies regardless of where they come from but also to at a minimum spy upon them and their campaign.
The same is true of any president that might choose to step down peacefully in that there is nowhere they can go to escape the persecution of their enemy.
@monorprise very good point.
@blueonblack22 Usually, an increasingly senile 78 year-old man who was known, long before he even was in politics, to be an incompetent business manager (among other things) would be just as bad a candidate as an 82 year-old, senile, underwhelming presidential seat-filler.
But trump is not even close to be a decent human being, let alone a demi god. He's a convicted criminal, a rapist, a sexist, a racist, a liar, a con man, a cult leader, an airhead of a Roy Cohn disciple, an angry toddler who's a slave to his emotions and he didn't even manage to do the one thing you seem to worship him for: make the economy better.
@blueonblack22 The only noteworthy thing he did for the economy during his presidency is the good ole republican tax cuts, which always, ALWAYS benefits the already-rich... and the rich don't spend all that much when they've got extra money. It's been more than 40 years since Reagan and people still believe that trickle-down economics work. It's now a well-known fact that it doesn't. The economy was already showing signs of weakness even before the pandemic.
Appart from that, USMCA is pretty much the same thing as NAFTA was, with insignificant changes, economically speaking. Of course, Trump made a big deal out of it, as with everything he does.
He pissed off global trading partners with his dumb tarriffs, which lead to retaliatory tariffs from the trading partners he antagonized, which in turn, cost dearly to the US income. The price of consumer products which were subjected to tariffs went way up. Basic income didn't increase (on the contrary). China retaliated to trump's trade war by importing a lot less agricultural products from the US, which in the end hurt US agriculture and forced trump's governement to spend a shit-ton of dough to help struggling farmers, who, ironically, were more often than not represented by republicans in their respective counties 😄. "Trump's tariffs resulted in a reduction in aggregate U. S. real income of $1.4 billion per month in deadweight losses, and cost U. S. consumers an additional $3.2 billion per month in added tax".
So, another thing Trump can't do: manage the economy well.
I mean, the idiot once bought a casino in Atlantic City, opened it in April 1990, and by 1991, it was already bankrupt.
1, first the appeals will undo this "political court decision."
2, this was "supposedly allegedly" years ago only invented now to smear a political guy during election time. no accusation at the time because it had not ever happened.
a decent court would reject all old csses as politically motivated lies. but look at thd javanau hearings hoe democrats same as dictator treat poligical opponents where are putins opponents...
also conflict of interest
i agree with @Rangers here and @nightdrot here.
I’m curious to see if civil unrest begins immediately or if it waits until July.
There’s no way Drumpf was going to get a fair trial in New York. The democrats rigged it perfectly. Couldn’t get him on election fraud with the Russians, so let’s find a hooker he banged in New York or California. Slam dunk!
Fascism is now the rule of law in the US. There will never be another conservative or even a moderate candidate in the race. The left has proven beyond the shadow of all doubt that they will do whatever it takes to remain in power and continue crushing the life out of the working class citizens of this country.
War is inevitable.
The left doesn't control the HoR. He was adjudicated by 23 and 12 citizens according to the rule of law.
The left controls everything now that they’ve established a precedent that allows them to wield the “law” against anyone who opposes them.
If you believe that this was all above board from start to finish, you’re delusional. It’s funny to me how so many people are all on board with “the rule of law”, “twelve ordinary citizens” and “justice” when they’re in favor of the verdict.
Were you equally pleased when Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted? George Zimmerman? OJ Simpson? If you believe that the US justice system has EVER gotten it wrong, and you think that THIS case couldn’t also have been a travesty, you’ve got blinders on.
Let's hope there is no civil war. But with the left's propensity for coast to coast violence any time they don't like something it may be whistling past the graveyard.
Us justice system HAS got it wrong. Not in this instance. The evidence was overwhelming and when you pice together his tweets and public statements he admitted to some of it!!
Nobody questions whether or not the system is fallible. But if you ONLY find the system fallible when it suits your political agenda, you’re an asshole. There’s no other way about it.
The US government COULD have brought these charges a DECADE ago. If the reason that they didn’t DOESN’T give you pause, you ARE the asshole!
It will not make any difference. A poll taken this morning says that a greater percentage of independents will change their mind and vote for Trump if he is found guilty. To be found guilty on all charges sne then Biden decides to not give the speech he was going to give from the White House after the verdict was announced. and the debacle with Robert Di niro yesterday removed all doubt that this was election interference with Bidens fingerprints all over it.
I heard that Trumps website crashed after the announcement because there were so many people donating to his campaign.
Maybe but those 15% Nikki Haley voters spoiling their ballot is still a challenge for Trump. He can't win without them
@exitseven But the Trump family are wealthy. Why do they need donations from the people weighted down already by inflation and high prices? How come I see the Trump brothers talking about the debacle, but Ivanka has not been seen making any comments?
This has Bidens fingerprints all over it. The #3 man at his DOJ, Matt Colangelo, went to New York to work for Alvin Bragg. Fani Willis and her boyfriend, Letisha James and jack Smith all were visitors at the White House just as they indicted President Trump. and then there is this video of the Big Guy as he was asked if he had a role in Trumps legal problems.
https://www.facebook.com/reel/1947271552396748
Oooooooohh! The scary Deep State
Shocker the criminal is a criminal lol.
Sad thing is he wasn't found guilty enough to be impeached like he should of been so he could still run I suppose, though he won't be the primary candidate that's handpicked by republican party because they are gonna choose someone else who ain't a criminal. And most people aren't extremists and will just vote for the next primary republican more like.
So good luck having to try a independent run, when he couldn't even win against Biden as a Primary.
New York Jury that voted overwhelmingly against him in both 2016 and 2020 and a crooket New York judge who wouldn't even name the law he violated.
Trump would have been declared guilty regardless of the charges. That said they achieved their objective in keeping him tied up financially and physically for weeks during an election.
@goaded Let me restate that, they didn't name a law that anyone broke. the "judge"/inquisitor also didn't let anyone else tell the jury what the law was. Not that it would mattered, as has been said since the beginning this was a far left jury that would have voted to convict Trump of any Charge regardless of absurdity just as they overwhelmingly voted against him twice.
@Siri137 Your not the only one who hasn't been following it, it was obvious from day one it was a sham trial just like the other new york trial.
The City and State of New York has a political and economic (to enrich lawyers/politicians) persecution not justice system. They focus their resources on their political enemies rather than the people who run around robing and killing New Yorkers.
In this case just like the last case your talking about one of the most far left juries you can get outside of Washington D. C.
Unlike D. C. which has congress and federal courts to veto the worse such unfair/bad policy. New York as a sovereign state just goes to town with them not unlike California, but really worse and for many decades longer.
This is why people and business have been fleeing the city for years, its also why New York like California have the highest number of lawyers per person of any state. Their dirty legal system makes being a lawyer a very profitable and influence business.
New York has basically twice as many lawyers as Texas dispute Texas being a far larger state, and on part with California.
www.statista.com/.../
That is why the judge was able to bend over backwards like that for his favored side in denying the defense the right to make its case. Not that it really matters so much after all we knew this was rigged from the jury selection.
He fell asleep when the charges were read. Thetly were read at arraignment too and he verbally acknowledged he understood them.
@DrPepper12 The show "trial" was a joke it was soo filled with corrupt holes.
@Siri137 He falsified business records (34 times), which would have been misdemeanours, if it hadn't been done with the intent to commit or conceal another crime; that made them felonies. Cohen already went to prison for campaign finance fraud on Trump's behalf.
Someone else wrote a question and listed the exact statutes. en.wikipedia.org/.../Prosecution_of_Donald_Trump_in_New_York
@Siri137 This question, in the update: TRUMP IS GUILTY ON ALL 34 COUNTS IN NEW YORK! Thoughts? ↗
The "law" he broke was going against the system. At that point, anything he did that looks wrong, was a law violation and subject to interpretation. If he had been a left candidate, stroked the "kitty" of war and liberalism... all will be calm in NYC.
@lightbulb27 That's not what he was convicted of.
"SECTION 175.10
Falsifying business records in the first degree
§ 175.10 Falsifying business records in the first degree.
A person is guilty of falsifying business records in the first degree
when he commits the crime of falsifying business records in the second
degree, and when his intent to defraud includes an intent to commit
another crime or to aid or conceal the commission thereof.
Falsifying business records in the first degree is a class E felony. "
Such as? Be specific!
@DrPepper12 Me?
@monorprise If course it took place, Cohen did time for it, dumbass.
So you're claiming that Cohen lied when he pleaded guilty, which sent him to prison for breaking the law for Trump. How was that "convenient" for him?
He used to lie and cheat FOR Trump, that was literally his job. Saying that you can't believe anything someone you know has lied is as stupid as believing everything someone who said a true thing once says.
""The defense goes on and on about Michael Cohen is immoral or a liar or a thief," prosecutor Josh Steinglass said of the state's star witness.
"We didn't choose Michael Cohen to be a witness. We didn't pick him up at witness store. The defendant chose him as a fixer because he was willing to lie and cheat,""
abcnews.go.com/.../state-says-trump-employed-cohen-because-he-was-willing-to-lie-110619473
@goaded Cohen clearly didn't like Trump, and had committed other crimes. it is unfortunately one of the standard powers and practices of DA's to talk people into pleading guilty for relatively minor crimes to get off the hook for more significant crimes.
This is also true in the court room setting, most people think it was advantageous for trump to pled guilty to having sexual relations with Stormy Daniels even thou he didn't because they would have had few consequences and made it harder for the court to persecute him on other issues.
The unfortunate reality in the "justice" system of states like New York is the truth really doesn't matter so much as the legal games you can play which is why lawyers there are soo valuable and numerous.
Of course Cohen doesn't like Trump, Trump left him to take the fall for a crime they committed together.
You really believe Trump didn't have sex with Daniels, based on his say-so? You're a mug.
Trump couldn't have "pled guilty" about it, either way, because that wasn't a charge, the word you needed was "admit". Why would Trump pay $130,000 to someone who was lying if he could simply sue her for defamation? Then why would he falsify documentation to conceal the payment?
Trump's guilty. It would only take one juror to disagree to get a hung jury but even the juror who got his news from truth social agreed he was guilty.
Trump has delayed all his trials for months by the legal games he plays, it's cost his supporters millions. Why bother, if you're innocent?
@monorprise I got blocked on the other opinion.
The jury in the case Trump lost was approved by Trump's lawyers, the judge was fair (unlike Cannon, who is clearly working for the defence), and one juror even said he got all his news from Truth Social!
They unanimously decided that Trump was guilty on all counts. Extremists are people like you who deny the evidence. The crime Trump was convicted of was the cover up.
You face a court and a jury from where you committed your crimes, it's perfectly normal.
@goaded Trump knew in the #MeToo era 2016/2017 a New York Court would never side with him against a woman regardless of the evidence and didn't have time for such a pointless fight. As such was simply paying her blackmail money. I am not sure i can think of anyone who wouldn't have done the same in such unfair circumstance.
Once again Trump's real mistake was living his life in New York City a state that would allow such abuse. You should appreciate the fact that when you have a support base of at most 13% (trump says 5%) the odds of any juror supporting you are not good. When you further compound that jury with dishonest jury instructions and a 1 sided trial the odds get even worse. Where your not allowed to present a defense or even define the law as written and practiced.
A hung jury required significant fortitude on the part of the minority under great pressure from the others for a prolonged time to fold to their position so that everyone can go back to their lives.
So even if one member of the jury was inclined to vote innocent they would require a great deal of moral courage and strength to hold out.
@goaded We already know this isn't true There was nothing even remotely fair about the Judge, who was in fact a far left loon responsbale for much of the crime in new york n the account of his own ideological extremism.
The fact that Trump wanted a change of venue clearly indicated he did not find the jury to be that of his peers and thus fair.
Quite an indictment of our legal system from the party of "law and order".
The VERY FIRST STEP is arraignment where it's one of AT LEAST 3x a defendent years the charges. Were his attys so incompetent they didn't tell him the charges? LMFAO
Newsflash spanky, it's the judges JOB to decide points of law and the juries as finders of fact. JFC!
90%+ of defendants plea out nationally, not just NY fool
@monorprise. Maybe only 13% supported him in the election is because WE KNEW HIM FOR 45 YEARS and KNEW who and what he was. You MAGAs only knew him from the totally staged apprentice show!!
Every infamous criminal ask for a change of venue. His lawyers would be fools not to make that motion!
@DrPepper12 Maybe if we didn't both see him do a good job in office and see your opinion of him do a 180 the moment he decided to run as a republican you would have a valid point. As it stands I have no reason to believe your anything more than a partisan hack.
It's a celebratory and tragic day. Celebratory because a jury of his peers indicted him and then a jury of his peers convicted him. It shows that the system works.
It's a tragic day because it probably could have been avoided if an even MORE tragic day had not occurred. September 8th 1974 was that day. When Ford pardoned Nixon it sent a message that it was an imperial presidency and has no bounds. Had he NOT pardoned Nixon and let him go to trial (and an almost slam dunk conviction) those images and that process of the POTUS brought to justice MAY have been enough to scare Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Shrub 2.0, Obama and now Trump into behaving LEGALLY and not the lawless, monarchical presidency we have today. Just my two cents.😂😭🤔
Okay so he 13 years ago he gave money to someone to not talk about the fact that she slept with him. Every politician does this. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying it seems like they're splitting straws and playing favorites here. Why aren't they charging other politicians with their crimes? I think politics is stupid.
Idgaf about Trump. I don't like him. That said, I want him back in office because when he was in office it was possible to make a decent living.
I just want freedom and a decent living. Idgaf who's in office as long as they enable us to have those two things.
Both major candidates are way too big government for my tastes. Either way the deficit will keep growing unabated till the people of my generation will be hit with the bills.
That said, I think the support for both is baked in. Biden will say, "He's a felon." and Trump will call himself a "political prisoner." Likely a wash overall.
From a legal standpoint, I think there is a good chance it ultimately gets tossed by the NY Court of Appeals and if not almost definitely in the federal courts on 6th Amendment grounds. But that will not be till after the election in all likelihood.
Why the 6th? Why tossed at all?
i agree about spending, but businessman trump was responsible about the spending budget.
And now the fun and games really begin - Trump's Legal Team will if they are worth their salt already have the appeals documentation already drawn up and will be filing them today, Monday at the latest. Because of the antics of Supreme Court Justice Arther Engoron, prosecuting DA Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., and New York Attorney General Letitia James, the whole case could be in jeopardy, and given the length of the appeals process If democrats thought that they could exclude Trump from running in the next Election with this case, it looks as though they miscalculated.
@goaded Sorry, I got some details wrong but Judge Juan M. Merchan and prosecuting DA Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. will probably be facing a Judicial review over how they handled the trial/case and even though the jury found Trump guilty he will not be regarded as a felon until he has been sentenced and that will not happen until any appeal is heard.
The sad part is that Biden and the Democrats couldn't care less if he is acquitted on appeal or not. And they certainly don't care if he is innocent or not.
Clearly the entire scam was designed to prevent him from engaging in an effective campaign by throwing an atomic legal bomb at him in prime time campaign season because they know they cannot defeat him legitimately and see that he is so far ahead in the poles that they are desperate to take him out. I have no doubt they would have him assassinated if they thought they could pull it off.
These are evil, corrupt totalitarians interested in only two things, money and power. They need to take out President Trump because he represents the only credible threat to their evil empire. And they have 100,000 the resources to do it than he has to protect himself. That's why he needs to support of all of us to succeed.
Let me start off by saying I’m not a fan of ether of them.
If we are being honest Donald trump isn’t the only US president that is a criminal but he is the first to get convicted which is interesting. I think one of the reasons why he has so many followers is because the news has been after him sense day one. I think it’s because most his peeps know that a lot of presidents especially in “our era” are major criminals but the courts never did anything to attack them as hard as they attacked trump. He sure do have a lot of die hard fans. I’m sure if he were to tell them to start murdering dems they would which is terrifying. I truly believe that no matter which way this election goes it’s not going to end well…
I completely agree. Both candidates aren’t qualified for the job.
Meanwhile our votes don’t even count really. It’s those electoral votes that determine the presidential winner anyway.
I'm surprised that he was convicted. and to those below me: you're boy's a career criminal -- always has been -- it's just official now. you can no longer call yourselves the law and order party. you've allowed Trump to reveal what hypocrites you are and you're too stupid to even realize it. this is what you people will be remembered for:
the party of the clinically insane.
So you actually believed the trial was not sufficiently rigged from jury selection as to guarantee conviction regardless of charges?
It was obvious they were going to declare him guilty from day one, what is surprising is that they didn't at least try to appear impartial by by rejecting one of the most obvously phony charges.
Just make it that much easier to make fun of the New York "court" system. Also make it easier to poach more businesses from the state given they clearly cannot expect consistent application of the law.
@monorprise an innocent man needs no pardon. THINK, how many of us would've gotten away with violating a gag order 11 times? let me ask YOU a question -- what if this was Biden? would you saying that it was rigged then? or, would you all throw a party? I think we all know the answer to that question... I should know because half of my family is full of Trump supporters -- one has no problem calling for the deaths the deaths of the entire Biden family
@monorprise this isn't normal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVB1UPktftM
@Sabretooth
I would hope everyone would get away with violating a Gag order, seeing how any law which authorizes such violates the 1st amendment and the State equivalent.
From a policy point of view I am thankful for gag order violation regarding corrupt judges with enormous conflict of interest conducting and profiting from a phony show trial as this judge did.
How else are the people to know of the deep level of corruption in their court system.
Although its hard for me to understand how people can overlook this fact among New York's "justice" system. A abusive and unaccountable system build of by and for the benefit of New York's lawyers.
If Biden was being brought into court and placed under GAG orders during an election campaign on the basis of 'crimes' who's statue of limitation had expired 6 years ago. I would absolutely call it not merely election interference but the act of a dictatorship!
I don't even need to know what the charges are, if the Government thought it was a problem they would have done something about it 6+ years ago!
Before their own laws said it was too late, not wait until that person was running for office against their own guy to selectively prosecute him alone for that crime.
@monorprise Freedom of speech does not include the right:
To incite imminent lawless action.
Brandenburg v. Ohio, 395 U. S. 444 (1969).
To make or distribute obscene materials.
Roth v. United States, 354 U. S. 476 (1957).
To burn draft cards as an anti-war protest.
United States v. O’Brien, 391 U. S. 367 (1968).
To permit students to print articles in a school newspaper over the objections of the school administration.
Hazelwood School District v. Kuhlmeier, 484 U. S. 260 (1988).
Of students to make an obscene speech at a school-sponsored event.
Bethel School District #43 v. Fraser, 478 U. S. 675 (1986).
Of students to advocate illegal drug use at a school-sponsored event.
Morse v. Frederick, __ U. S. __ (2007).
all of which no evidence for. y'know, they could've thrown Trump in jail at anytime -- they sturdily thought that they could appeal to you. Announcement. On November 15, 2022, so, you don't care if his guilty or not -- regardless of the crime?
@Sabretooth That federal politicians in black robes have made countless unlisted exceptions to the Federal 1st amendment out of the necessity of its equally unauthorized application to the States. Does not make their judgement part of the Constitutions.
Merely a statement of what in the Constitution they are not willing to enforce in their conspiracy with the executive against the states.
This trial is political and has hurt and will hurt this country far more than we know at this point. Half of the nation does not trust the government, the courts, the media and the other half of the population.
We are now divided, deeper than in the past except the Civil War. It is quite possible that we will have a split and possibly a Civil War.
Biden was never a uniter, he has always been a divider… he may be the last President of the 50 states.
There isn't much to trust in the New York State Government @Jersey2 hasn't been in a very long time. This is why the State has been in decline for a very long time.
New York for most of American history was the biggest state, now its down to #4 and declining still further. People think California is bad but New York was California decades before California.
This abuse of the legal system will only drive more people and businesses from the State. So its a boon for States like Texas and Florida looking to pick up now even wallstreet:
www.forbes.com/.../?sh=4106eecf21a0
@monorprise It’s not about the NY government. It is about the Federal Government. They no longer represent a large percent of the population and their legitimacy is in grave doubt. It is just not my government anymore and that feeling started when I heard the news of the conviction. It wasn’t unexpected given the politics involved but it is the reality that we are truly being taking advantage of that hits home now. We have a corrupt federal government.
@goaded Its a little easyer to trust 5+ men in black robes confirmed by the senate than 1 man not confirmed at all making big money on his so called "trial". Among a jury of the defendant's 85%+ political enemies.
That said we don't need to trust anyone in either case because we can see the facts for ourselves. The 'crimes' in question if they ever happened at all had their statue of limitation expire 6+ years ago!
If the goverment didn't care enough about them to prosecute them anytime before then it is inexcusable to ignore their own law and selectively prosecute them during an election campaign. Thus draining their political enemy of his his time, money, and reputation.
The non-excuse they tried that said crimes were somehow related to other Never Specified (Violation of the 6th amendment) acts also 6+ years old and disregarded for chairing for lack of evidence never-mind never convicted (Illegal presumption of Guilt).
The honest and correct procedure would have been first to charge Donald Trump with the alleged crimes BEFORE the Statute of limitation which in this case ended in 2018 for crimes that were committed many years prior.
Absent that, to also charge and convict Donald Trump of the alleged campaign and/or Tax crime BEFORE again trying him for the alleged somehow related crimes. New York didn't do any of that, in fact the Feds even looked into the campaign allegation and rejected it.
Given Trump would have had to report it in 2017 which was NOT an election year even if it were true.
@Jersey2
For many other reason your sentiments are shared among large numbers of Americans. But this really isn't such a reason for anyone outside of the State of New York. A state that has soo oppressed its population with such one-sided corruption and dysfunction as to need no example here to tell its people of that truth.
That state has been dysfunctional and corrupt for a very long time. We don't even talk about it anymore.
@monorprise The only person making money off the trial is Trump, because of idiots like you. One of the jurors got his "news" from "truth" social, and even they thought Trump was guilty. Because they listened to the evidence.
@goaded That democrats have predictably delegitimize the New York and to some degree federal "justice " system with this abuse and galvanized half the country against them.
Is an unfortunate but almost inevitable result of weaponizing the state courts against your only real political enemy. Hopefully we find away to preserve the republic, but not too much can be done beyond total abolish of the Federal LEO's and moving out of democratic states after they cross the Rubicon with the Mara Largo raid.
@monorprise No. The only people delegitimizing the justice system are Trump and his supporters out there attacking the judges, prosecutors, their staff and families and "expressing concern" for the members of the jury who might get doxxed and attacked while neglecting to mention that it would be by people supporting Trump.
There's a reason the jury was kept anonymous, a procedure usually reserved for Mob trials.
@goaded They keep jury's anonymous for lots of reasons in this case however it had the effect of helping to prevent people from looking into each of their backgrounds to know they represented the 87% of new yorkers of that district that voted against Donald Trump.
Although given the way the democrat activist judge conducted the 'trial' in denying trump any chance at a real defense, redefining the law on top of disregarding the procedure. Is all but sure to get it throw out eventually on appeal as soon as he gets before a court not packed by the far left. Which admitly might take a while in the State of new York.
@monorprise No, they hardly ever keep the jury anonymous. Only for their own safety. Someone on right-wing "news" was as good as saying their lives were in danger if their identities came out; why would they be in danger from anyone but people who believe the lies you keep spreading?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izE58iNVBwg
That "someone" was Lara Trump. The jury's not in danger from people who agree with the verdict and general rule of law, just from Trump supporters, who reject it.
"Lara: Is Alvin Bragg gonna commit to making sure that they maintain their jobs, that they have security, God forbid?
Are these the people that, is this what we need to worry about now?
Like if you're doing your civic duty, that you put yourself in jeopardy like this?
Yeah, it's a real thing you have to think about these days now, apparently, thanks to Alvin Bragg.
Thanks to, I'm sure we can say thanks to Joe Biden, this is happening.
It's hard to blame the jurors though, Carl, because look, these people were led down a path so directly to this conclusion, to this verdict by the judge from the very beginning, everything possible stacked against Donald Trump."
@goaded One can hardly dispute that the Jury's lives are in danger given where they choose to live and what they are doing to perpetuate this situation.
Because of judges and jury's like this one who focus their attention of letting thieves and murders run free in favor of focusing their attention on political enemies have made New York City one of the most dangerous places to live in these untied States.
This is frankly yet anther reason why it's time to leave New York, There is no rule of law there has not been for many years now.
The reason is this same Judge's attitude towards said law.
So you will forgive me when their actions over many years cause us to laugh at the idea that this court or its supporters were ever interested in the rule of law. It is quiet obvious they never did.
@monorprise IF their lives are in danger, it's from Trump supporters who have not only beed disuaded from violent actions but positively encouraged by Trump and his acolytes like you.
@monorprise That's possibly your most pathetic response yet. If the Trump juror's lives are in danger, it's from Trump supporters who have not only beed disuaded from violent actions but positively encouraged by Trump and his acolytes like you. And the fake concern from the right is simply jury intimidation for the next three trials.
@goaded Perhaps this is a concept is hard to see for you as a German who's goverment has done soo much to encourage soo much similar criminality in favor of focusing their resources on their leader's political enemies in speech crime.
You too much sympathize with New Yorker in failing to imagine their situation was ever any more safe than yours.
You certainly don't appreciate how they were once more free as well.
@monorprise I've only been German for a couple of years, and I have a New Yorker aunt. There were a couple of months when London had more murder cases than New York, but it soon sorted itself out to half the rate in NY. I'd still live in either city, because it's mostly safe.
You keep talking about how the times of slavery and indentured servitude were somehow more free than today; that's bullshit, and also irrelevant to how Republican leadership is currently intimidating juries.
@monorprise Got blocked by blueonblack22
"Yes that is why Trump's lawyers determined the a change of venue was needed as none of the ones provided were acquitted, Indeed the one guy in the jury pool who admitted to voting for him got excused for that reason."
Bullshit. The guy who got ALL his news from truth social was allowed on the jury, are you telling me he didn't vote for Trump?
@goaded As I told you before I don't believe getting some (not all) news from "Truth Social" means your at all interested in Trump. On most such platforms a lot of people are on them for discussion and debate.
Just because Im on GAG does not mean i would be inclined to support the people who run GAG in a trial.
@monorprise You've never told me that before, and it doesn't matter. 99% of people on truth social are Trump supporters and the other 1% are journalists wanting to see what they say.
My opinion? He got what he deserved for the crimes he committed. I've been celebrating since I heard the news a few hours ago, because he FINALLY got what anyone in the courts with the same crimes would get. I hope they sentence him to the maximum extent of the law. He's been getting away with everything until now. And this was NOT a political thing--it was paying for your wrongdoing, pure and simple.
but with so many trump haters , how can you trust the jury when news companies promote democrat propagznde?
@strateguy632 That’s not my problem. I was answering the question, not giving a different tangent of it, like you like to do. Stick to the topic. Was he found guilty? Why? Because there was plenty of evidence. That has nothing to do with opinions nor what YOU believe to be propaganda.
I think it represents how corrupt the system is. They used a bunch of loopholes to have the statute of limitations extended then used another loophole to get all the counts as a felony which led them to another loophole where they could try all these counts together...
In the most Democrat state loaded with Democrat judges it just reeks of political corruption against an opponent.
How did the legislature extend the statute of limitations?
The felony change was because the misdemeanors were done as a crime that was a felony thereby making them felonies but class E - the lowest kind.
@DrPepper12 A crime that didn't take place, which is where this collapses on appeal.
That and the judge's numerous blatenly unlawful trial behavior and instructions.
@monorprise but someone falsified those records¡
Try for three if money alliws
? 🤔
@DrPepper12 didn't Cohen admit to that and stealing from Trump? I honestly haven't been following it very well but multiple lawyers have said this is a huge mess and holds little water.
You really don't think it being in the most liberal state with an insanely liberal court system has anything to do with this?
@monorprise well which is it a crime occurred or no crime occurred?
Are you a member of the bar?
@DrPepper12 are you? Has every court case in the USA been with no ulterior motive or corruption?
He's been charged with 34 felonies but nobody really knows the crime, it's insane. Hilary had a similar mislabeling of a business expense and paid the misdemeanor fine but trump did it to cover something up about the 2016 election but we don't know what it is yet?
I genuinely have no idea what the actual crime is. I've seen Vivek explain it he's obviously bias though, I've seen Dershowitz another bias person but I also remember one CNN video of a lawyer saying the charges were very weak and made no sense (I can't remember the name I saw it on Twitter). If you think this is just good clean investigating you're just admitting your bias.
Where are these types of investigations for everyone illegally trading stocks? Pelosi and the Clinton's, the Schumer's, Biden the "big man" as his son says...
