He paid off the hotel $50k to hide the footage. And to the idiots that are saying “she should’ve just left”, if you had the common sense to read the case document, she tried to leave numerous times. He had security and other paid people track her down and bring her right back to him every single time. She was also signed to his music company (Bad Boy Records) and made several threats towards her career and life. Let’s not forget that this was not really a secret… his family definitely knew, his private security knew, random sex workers knew, public HOTELS knew of the abuse but did absolutely nothing to help her. Why? Because of money he was paying everyone to keep this hush hush for a decade. If he did THAT clear as day in a public hotel, just IMAGINE for one second what he did behind closed doors. And unpopular opinion: someone with THAT much money and fame who is paying everyone to keep their mouths shut, do you REALLY think it’s easy to pack it up and leave easily especially when you’re a celebrity also?
With good lawyers and often unbelievable old-school laws, one can bury the truth for a very long time, which this seem to have been the case. Given also the statute of limitations in the state of California, for abuse is three short years, it is enough for the lawyers to prolong the release with lawsuits and other reasoning, so that if the footage surfaces, no criminal cases can be pursued.
Simply, the Laws have to change statewide and around the globe, so that men and women are treated equally in the eyes of the law and that there should be much longer time for statute of limitations for all kinds of criminal acts AND there won't be any repercussions for establishments to release footage when a criminal act has taken place.
Because everyone has a right on whether they want their personal issues to be released or not be released until proven guilty , apparently his girlfriend didn’t open her mouth and kept it hush hush for whatever reason, he probably paid her off or she is just a moron and he probably paid the hotel to keep it confidential , as well , whatever the reason may be , that’s between them. If footage is released without their consent? People act like they're moral but if a person is benefitting a lot of other people around them then they will often overlook a lot of things. I don't think the only reason rich people get away with a lot is that they have a good legal team it's also that a lot of people are only someone because they're attached to this person or their business and they don't want to lose this position so they will act like nothing is going on. That's my impression anyway.
I think that whoever controlled the video either took money in payment for hiding it or they simply did not want it to become available to law enforcement prior to the statute of limitations expiring or it was just overlooked. Admittedly, the tape does show pretty excessive a behavior on the part of Sean Combs, but on the other hand, interestingly there is no account of what behavior occurred in the hotel room before this started happening, including but not limited to the behavior of the woman herself toward Sean Combs. I think these things, if they were available, would serve to further illuminate exactly what happened here throughout the entire incident.
