If you die who gets access to your social media like facebook, instagram, etc?

Is it really yours? The hardware behind it isn't though you have a licence to use it within limits set.

A friend had his parked car smashed by an elderly driver who had a massive heart attack. The insurance company assessed the elderly guy died before impact and consequentially the policy became void just before impact. You can't have contracts with dead people.

Formally I suspect the licence the account is based on will cease at the moment of your death.

Might make a nice court case.

the simple answer is hooked-nose fellas. they'll steal all of that information and collect on those assets.

but it's possible since they own it anyway, they could continue with it through AI and no one would ever know you died for a few years

but i did see that story recently. i actually saw it about 10 years ago. some company trying to get people to do online wills and notifying their online friends that they had passed. i don't know how they'd verify that unless that's in the legal agreement?
