DNA are not cells... DNA sequences are polymers made of nucleotides. What you are talking about is basicly knock out humans where you would inactivate or knock out an existing gene by replacing it or disrupting it with an artificial piece of DNA... Personally I am strongly against it. We often study gene function in a mouse model for example, but if you were to knock out the same gene in a human, the outcome could be vastly different leading to unexpected consequences. I don't how you guys didn't learn this from the experiment Covid-19 vaccines that I told you not to take. You don't always end up with perfect insertion of genes nor are your experimental models perfectly predictable in other species. You can end up causing harm like myocarditis, blood clots, neurological damage, super cancers, suppressed immune function, etc. It's way more safe to silence a gene through miRNA (Micro RNA) treatments, than to do gene insertions that aren't going to be easily reversed.

It would be good in certain ways if they are removing genetic diseases that are usually passed on like cancer and other nasty diseases and I suppose after a generation of doing that it wouldn’t be necessary anymore once all the diseases were eradicated that way but people always abuse science like that and might make people different from what they should be. Would also take the fun out sex and reminds me of a part of a movie called “The Demolition Man “
It’s just getting weird. People love playing god.
I think it's highly unethical at the very least

everything was weird at some point... then future generations considered it normal
I guess quality over quantity is fine. But I'd rather a little more effort be put into eradicating the excess of humans around right now than pratting about adding more to the number.
China has used tools like crispr to edit genes. It is illegal in most places. On 2018 they made twin females that were immune to hiv. They were trying to make them immune to maleria if I remember correctly. It could be a useful tool in the future but will be abused by people who can afford it. Once they have it down they will be able to increase IQs etc.
I think we should leave Mother Nature alone. Medical advances have come so far that some medical professionals think they are god.
I think it is an interesting phenomena, especially if it can prevent disease. 🧚🏾♀️🫧
Sounds like something for the modern millennial/Gen Z world
I think it’s fine as long as it is to treat deformities and disabilities. Editing trivial things is stupid and can lead to bad outcomes
I am a medical student, indeed hereditary diseases can be eliminated, and super soldiers could also be created.
As smart as we think we are I think we are playing RUSSIAN ROULETTE with an automatic when playing with genetics. What could possibly go wrong? Remember MURPHYS LAW whatever could possibly go wrong will go wrong at the worst possible moment.
If it will help in avoiding genetic deformities or improve body and mind durability, then yes
Other than that, like change eye color or skin color, no need. It's a double-edged sword. Great things could be done, great damage WILL be done because ultimately, it will be in the hands of despicable, power-driven, evil human fuck ups who will bring about every imaginable horror.
I think we should ask the embryos. If they don’t complain keep doing it. Maybe they’ll cure my dad’s Alzheimer’s.
Yeah, this is crazy stuff and I don't pretend to understand it. I assume genetics from a woman are still needed, but I don't really know.
Any kind of genetic engineering is shit we should never mess with.
WTF! I'd never try that in a million years!
I am all for it because I believe in eugenics.
It'll be interesting that's for sure
You can’t stop scientific advancement
