Can USB-C cables be used on devices from different brands?

I'm wondering if I can use my husband's Samsung USB-C cable to charge my iPhone or if it is not advisable and I should strictly charge my phone with an Apple cable?

USB-C is USB-C, in general they can exchanged however you want. I don't know of any constraints. Even when there are some differences in Watts, for faster charging.

But you can charge the Nintendo Switch with the same charger and cable you usually charge your phone with. And whatever other devices use USB-C ports.

I thought all iphones used that lightening connection. That won't fit. If it's actual usb a or usb c... those are all (more or less) the same and will work.

The new iPhones no longer have lightening connection it's USB-C now.

oh well then yeah usb-c is usb-c. some cables are or are not fast-charge capable, but they'll still work... just... obviously not as fast

Yeah it still works but they don’t last as long as the ones made for apple products

Of course the other end that fits into the phone itself has to be for an Apple phone with the lightning end , the actual charger cube has the usb-c connection which other brands can use

I swap usb-c chargers all the time, it shouldn't be and issue. I look forward to it with my next phone.

I'm glad the EU stood up to Apple forcing them to stop making proprietary connectors in the name of profit, I mean security 😒

will a USB cable even fit in an iPhone? I thought Apple had that proprietary cable that only fit apple products. If it will fit it should be okay.

Yeah Samsung and Apple are not compatible with each other or if they are you won’t get the best charge or take longer. ITT also possible the phone or the charging port could get damaged.
