Do you still have a landline phone ☎️ and use it more than your cellphone?

I don't care what anyone says, landline phones are great still. So simple. My cellphone is always wanting me to do things I don't know how to do, and have no one to ask. It's a real problem.
With my landline phone ☎️ I just pick up the receiver and make the call. Period. They can hear me, I can hear them. Plus when someone like Walgreens puts you on hold for 50 minutes, it doesn't run down the battery.

If it wasn't so expensive, I would prefer to. Cells are SUCH an INCREDIBLE pain in the ass and I rarely ever even have it turned on!! If I tried to type just that much on the phone, it would've taken me at least 2 minutes!! Typing it here on the computer only took me about 30 seconds! Buddha forbid I should make a fucking mistake in my typing!! HOLY FUCK!! THE SHIT I HAVE TO GO THROUGH TO TRY TO CORRECT A TYPO ON THAT FUCKER!!
Yesterday, I tried to make a phone call on it and I accidentally grazed (or, breathed on) the wrong number with my finger and it started dialing! I touched the thing to make it hang up, it wouldn't! I touched it again, nothing! I hit it hard, nothing! I beat the fuck out of it, nothing!! It wouldn't hang up `til I beat it with my knuckle several times!! I thought I was gonna crack the glass!! It finally hung the fuck up!! I found the right number and dialed that and, before I had the chance to push the speaker button, because I can't hear shit on these things without doing so, the number pad pulls up!! Again, I touched the button to get rid of it so I could turn on the speaker and it wouldn't go the fuck away until I beat it with my knuckle!!
Sometimes, I dial a number and it'll ring once or twice and immediately hang up on me!!
And, even though I only ever turn it on for a few minutes every couple days, I still have to charge the battery after only about 5 uses!! That takes well over an hour, maybe 2!!
I still have several house phones but, the service has been shut off for almost 3 years. We couldn't afford the bill, anymore. Since my aunt died almost 3 years ago, I almost never get calls, maybe 3 a month, if I'm lucky, and I hardly ever make more than 5 a month so, I just didn't see a point in paying nearly $100 a month to make or take a handful of calls per month. If I could find one, I could operate out of a phone booth for a LOT less!!

I don’t have one but my stepdad does since he is always home and only has a flip phone for when he goes away. A landline is good for having a fax machine or another number to use if necessary

I guess I am a die hard with certain things. I still write checks to pay my bills. I don't know how people that spend money from their back account keep track of the balance if they don't have a check register to write their withdrawals in. It would drive me crazy to have to constantly call the bank to keep track of where there money is spent. Do you know how they do it without a check register to keep track?

Yeah you’re old school, I hardly ever write checks, but it’s easy to keep track of everything on my app , I check it daily and see everything that is in my account and every charge or transaction, and the bank alerts me to suspicious charges, I used to go crazy balancing the register and finally stopped doing it 15 years ago

I have a laptop at home and I can also still go to the bank to do transactions during business hours or use my debit card to see my balance or get cash, I can still make payments over the phone with my bank card

Also have WiFi in the house so I can use my laptop like a phone too on certain apps, I use Apple for everything because of the compatibility with my other devices, apple may be expensive but it’s always been reliable and lasts years, my laptop is 13 years old and works great still, if I used windows type of laptops I probably would have had to replace them 4 times already

I've been thinking about paying my cellphone bill over my landline phone ☎️ using my bank card. Is it safe to just call the phone company and give them my bank card number?

I’ve never had a problem back when I did that but some charge a fee so I just pay it online and since my bill never changes I have it on automatic payments coming from my bank card

Yes, I do. I miss the simplicity of the old. My cell phone is better used as a wallet for all those rewards cards we have to have in order to get a normal price at most stores. Except instead of a card, now we need an app. Gotta have a cell for the apps.

I'm with you as far as the simplicity goes. I tell my landline what to do. Unlike that darn cellphone - right when I turn it on it tells me I need to do some cleaning and delete things I'm not using. My cellphone is the boss, and I resent that.

Yes! I'm also not a fan of the spyware and self destruct features on cell phones. Add to all the complications the outrageous cost vs a landline and 💥

Yes, I still have one but it looks like a cellphone. I use it when I have to make a call to a place that has no cellphone number.

Well, back until cell phones came out my late mother and I both had a landline phone but over the years things have changed, and honestly I do not think Verizon offers regular phone service in our area of Pennsylvania, USA. I do know Verizon came out with Verizon Fios and once they offer that in my area I might try all of their services. I do know of other parts of Pennsylvania, USA offer Verizon Fios. There is nothing wrong if you like home phone service, hey cell phones can be a pain in the arse at times. I had my eye on a few VoIP Phone carriers that have battery backup for their phone service, but I have not made any decisions yet.

I have a landline and have no intention of getting rid or it. Cellphones sound like you are talking through a tin can and there is also the latency in the connection.

I keep a landline operational as part of a cable bundle in case my cell craps out. But I never use it. I don't even know where the hell my old landline phone is. In here somewhere.

They come in spurts with me. Sometimes I can get several per day, none on the weekends, sometimes I get one or two per day.
But cellphones have all those pesty advertisements to navigate through.
Damn, I just miss the old days so much. I wish it was the 70's or 80's again. Now, my brain understood how to live in that period of time. It was simple. I like simple things. I like things to be simple. Why not.
But now that my life helper died, navigating through life is once again very hard on me. Darn it anyway. 🤢

I try to use mine to give to people that I think will sell my info. Then I screen my calls with the answering machine.
Better than blowing up my cell phone with nonsense calls!
