France is in the middle of elections, and there's a good chance the far right will get in. Now, given that the far right isn't known for tolerance, is it really appropriate to hold an international event there?
If France votes in the far right, should we cancel the Olympics?
It's a fair suggestion, although a bit hypocritical. The Olympics hardly represent the full spectrum of human expression and desire. It's a sanitized, mainstream image of sports, that itself leaves out alternative practices that celebrate the human body.
A truly diverse and inclusive Olympics would have events like rope bondage, where skilled practitioners demonstrate agility, dexterity, and artistry in tying intricate knots and patterns around their partners.
Blindfolded obstacle courses could test participants' sensory perception and trust, echoing the thrill of surrender found in submission.
Whipping and flogging contests could showcase both the skill of the Dominant in wielding their tools and the endurance and resilience of the submissive, a testament to the strength that can arise from pain and vulnerability.
Punishment relays could involve teams of Mistresses and slaves, demonstrating the communication and teamwork involved in bondage and discipline.
Suspension events would require athletes to hold themselves aloft, suspended only by ropes or chains, while artistic gymnastics could include things like anal dilation and triple penetration.
We should focus on incorporating more diverse athletic competitions into the Olympics as a way to enhance the celebration of inclusiveness in human expression.
If the "far" right isn't known for tolerance, wouldn't it be ironic for the hypocritical "far" left to display intolerance by cancelling the Olympics?
Besides, the UK and U. S. governments (even the Democrats in the U. S.) are, in reality, right wing - neoliberal, authoritarian, militaristic.
Cancelling the Olympics would just be another form of aggression like sanctions and underhanded coups. It would turn the world further away from their arrogant, bullying policies and make them even less relevant.
I'll add that cancelling the Olympics because the people voted democratically for a candidate who is more right wing than the current neoliberal WEF ass hole would be incredibly ironic in light of support for actual Nazis in Ukraine and rapacious, genocidal, enemies of humanity in Israel.
It is already terrible that France wants the Olympic athletes to pass out from the heat and die on the ground. No cooling should mean no more Olympics in France!
You don't need air con in Europe, most of the time you're trying to keep warm. If the athletes are warm they should open a window and wear less clothes
The Tokyo Olympics held three years ago were the hottest summer games on record. Temperatures in Japan exceeded 93 degrees and humidity levels were around 70%. According to reports the upcoming games in Paris could surpass those conditions!
No, we shouldn't cancel the Olympics. But so the right gets satisfied, every event should be changed so that it goes in the opposite direction. For example, 400m race should be run anti-clockwise.
I thought about that too. It's too late to change their location and everything is done to host them.
Having elections so close from the Olympics was a bad move. I'm really afraid of what's going to happen next. If the result is the same on July 7, then Europe is doomed as well as NATO.
Yes because the Olympics aren´t a political event but a sports event. There was an Olympic event in Bejing 2008, there was an Olympic event in Nazi Germany 1936. There were Olympic Games in Sotschi sure they were games in the winter but nonetheless to just name a couple of counter examples.
Considering the Olympics were held in dictatorships like China, Russia and the Soviet Union, it seems a bit odd to want to yank them from France at the last minute (where would you hold them instead?). If free and fair elections in a foreign country don't yield the result you like, you'll just have to get over it rather than throwing a temper tantrum and making ludicrous demands.
It was really inappropriate for the IOC to hold the Olympics in totalitarian China 8 years ago. If the National Rally had already been running the French government these past years there would be much less chance of a terrorist attack because they are against open borders.
No one is as intolerable as the far left. No i am looking forward to the Olympics and perhaps the French have had enough of no natives turning the natives against their culture and tradition. I know that i have had enough of it here in the UK. Culture and patriotism.
man when reading this sort of opinions I always wonder if "democracy" is a joke to people. like you can cancel some social media asshole but not representants of the people. because you're not avoiding the fact that a majority of people share their opinions. I mean if you want a minority dictatorship, you should move to china.

The Olympics are all crap now. It is not about athletics, It is more about endorsements. The last good Olympics was in 1984 in LA. Athletes were supposed to be amateurs.
Very tolerant of you. You should probably pat yourself on the back and by yourself a golden ribbon and then take selfies and post them on your social media.
No, because Ms. Le Pen, for all her xenophobia, isn't within an ocean of the Moustachioed Madman.

Yes people are allowed to believe what they want to believe. That's why we have elections. Just because it disagrees with yours doesn't make it wrong. That sounds pretty intolerant to me.

1936 all over again. They had more time to reconsider back then, though. I think it's too late, and at least the president will still be Macron.

It would also be a breach of democracy.

''Grand Prix d'Eurovision'' - Olympics - Idiots...
who cares :D
At least further down south - France has a number of very agreeable places, where all the above is irrelevant :)
The French people are just tired of their bad politics from Macron and wanted a change. We canβt fault them for that.
Are you registered to vote in France? if not not stay out of their politics
