I don't think any religion should be taught by the state. That include Satanism (i. e Pride). I am however fine with religious materials being available in schools for children to study through their own volition and hopefully guidance from their family and community so long as the materials do not encourage any moral behavior that violates law (i. e. pedophilia, child pornography, rape, murder, etc.). That material can be books, magazines, posters, internet access to religious websites, scholarly journals, museum exhibits, etc. but the state itself should not employ people to teach religion due to the constraints of the establishment clause in the first amendment. We don't want another Church of England dictating what version of a religion is the acceptable state religion and how it is to be practiced or else... Religious freedom in America is vastly important. The Ten Commandments should be in school. They can be on posters in class rooms or in libraries in the religion/philosophy section, in religious texts that are available for reading, and in religious exhibits that tell the history of Judeo-Christian beliefs, geographic origin, and their historic purpose and impact on our country's founding. All of this is important cultural history. That said state funds should not be used to employee people from the state to tell you what religion is and how you practice it. Private organizations can do that on their own, with their own funds, and their own missionaries. The state has no place in dictating that.

The ten commandments argument was “it is historical” then make it in the original language: Hebrew.
Secondly, it goes against everything our founding fathers wanted since it doesn’t promote other Gods, tells you to worship the Lord on Holy Day goes against freedom of religion, and can’t speak against the Lord which is also in violation of freedom of speech.
Another important note to take is this, freedom of religion is also freedom from religion. Separation of church & state must be upheld!

I think it's fine to teach some objective facts about religions and their history. Avoiding any promotion of a particular religion. The ten commandments are obviously not harmful or disrespectful to any other religion, so I don't see the harm. Should schools host a Mohammed drawing contest, or force prayer on kids? Definitely no.
Didn't Trump disobey all 10 of them?🤣
But, seriously, American fanatical christians should quit trying to shove their fucking stupid religion down children's throats. No wonder the bible belt is so messed up, socially speaking.
I earned $5000 ultimate month by using operating online only for 5 to 8 hours on my computer and this was so smooth that I personally couldn't accept as true with before working on this website. If you too need to earn this sort of huge cash then come and be part of us. Do this internet-website online...
HERE >>>> Webincome544.blogspot.ComIn a historical context, I have no problem with a brief discussion on the Ten Commandments, say during World History class when talking about the ancient Middle East and Egypt.
That's a topic for religious education classes. Partition of which should not be mandatory, especially in state schools.
No. They're outdated. Also, as someone who was raised a christian, school was a nice break from all that bs. No offense God.
No, math, history, science, English, physical education and civics. Religion should notbe taught specifically but they should not pretend it does not exist either.
Taught: yes.
Indoctrinated: nope.
At the same time: teach also about the other religions... and do it in a neutral way :)
Yes, I think that’s a fantastic idea. Way more useful than cringey math where you slap together half of the Romanian with a few numbers here and there and end up with the answer 12
No, because the U. S. Founding Fathers, slave owners though many were, saw what happened as a British colony when a nation mandates one religion.
in history class, yes.
We don't need elementary school teachers having to explain adultery and coveting they neighbor's wife with young children
I would say yes. Or at least posted in places where they can be easily seen and read
Nope, there is already enough brainwashing going in schools as it is without that rubbish
How, pray tell, are the Democrats being hypocritical by enforcing the first Amendment?
Mixing religion and government is a huge mistake as history tells us.
Personally, I would like to see that.
Displayed, yes , taught, no.
