Why is it unacceptable to say anything about east Asians while totally fine to be racist towards south Asians?

Indians run a lot of companies in USA, WAY more than E Asians, because their language skills and intellectual ability, from Microsoft Alphabet, Twitter even OnlyFans CEO is Indian woman. I have worked with many Indian man and woman at a Fortune 500 biotech firm. So in America, people of Indian descent are judged by their work, not their personal beliefs, even our Vice President’s mother is a scientist from India

Other day on the news was a report of sexual assault by a “south east asian” man. They show a picture of the suspect & he clearly looks Pakistani.

How does that make south east Asians feel now that you get blamed because woke news won’t say pakistani or muslim.
