Do you believe in a god?

I grew up in a catholic environment and believed in God most most of my childhood, but around the age of 11 I questioned everything and became an optimistic nihilist. I've read Friedrich Nietzsche, Albert Camus, and many other writers that have expressed views on the world and its absurdity and lack of any real meaning. This year I reconnected spiritually with God and feel that having a higher power is an amazing thing to have in one's life. I am not catholic and honestly dislike it's entire premise, but have adapted parts of Islam, Christianity and personal views to my sense of what i perceive as God.

This is a very sensitive topic, but since I already got blocked by a very outspoken religious user without that person ever talking to me, I think it's okay to go all out since it's hypocrisy.

Not yet. But I want to; I believe in it if I can see it. A lot of Atheists think you're crazy. Well Would you believe me if I told you that I've seen monsters. Not people. If I've told you I've seen a 'person' stab itself in the head and arms without anything happening but easily drew blood when she slightly poked my palm with it, would you believe it? Probably not. To you and the majority, I am crazy.

Some things are, I believe, hard to explain if you haven't experienced it yourself. At this point in time, I think two things. Either, it's not a thing and people wrote it to understand things or to keep people in line. Or it is a thing, but people think they are closer to god than they actually are. Or God's misunderstood.

Why does one think that we other religions are sinners. Why does one book speak of loving your neighbor but I got blocked by that one without ever talking one to one like open adults. Same person asked later "me and a guy were talking, why did he suddenly ghost me?" The hypocrisy in some of the believers.

And why do some believers think that everyday activities revolves around what God wants? I think it's in our nature to want to belong. Somewhere, with someone.

It's because of a combination of hypocrisy, wanting God to love them and for the minority who I believe truly knows the answer who doesn't know how to explain it. Then again, how do you explain something to me? Someone who needs to see before she believes?

I don’t personally. I grew up in a very religious household but everything my family did (their actions) went against everything the religion was about so it all seemed a bit fake to me I guess. Then a bunch of other shit happened to me a bit later on in life, and if there was such thing as a god, it wouldn’t of happened.

as a kid, i was indoctrinated with the idea of a god, so i did believe in god but with getting older, rational and critical thinking made it impossible for me to keep "faith" as a method to "know" things. cause there's so much better and more reliable methods.

by the way, what I liked about Bobby is that he never did this to appease Muslims. He would question and argue everything about them and their religion and it made you question also. It was a learning process for him that he made public.

one of the sweet things about quran book is in 2,62 if you choose to be Christian "no worry" so not violated quran and so not only islam is the only path according to quran.

@strateguy632 That is an incorrect understanding of that verse. It is referring to the people of each religion till the next prophet had not been sent to them or the message of the next prophet was not relayed to the people of that religion. The verse cannot be read or understood in isolation.

No, I do not believe in any god.

However, I realize that religion can be a good thing for those who can believe. Often, people in a religious community will also find each other in their quest to find their god and that can be great for them.
