There is no solid proof or strong evidence God does or doesn’t exist.
No, it's an assertion as "exist" is meaningless when the subject is infinite - as God must be.
The Bayesian theorem is more or less all we need to assert that there is a God. Within the bounds of what is humanly knowable, of course.
Even Hawking got laughed at for his baseless assertion of "we have evidence that makes a God existence pointless" when in fact God is not a hypothesis requiring any sorting of evidence to prove or disprove. It's outside the purview of science. Science can only deal with the quantifiable, it has no basis or tools to deal with the divine or infinite.
Steven never broached the subject of God again after that shaming. He was a good scientist, but a shit philosopher and worse debater.

No. Because as Hawking's explains we have evidence that makes a god existence pointless and god without a point fundamentally wouldn't be what people define as god therefore god does not exist.
Also another point is following this logic of there is no evidence against is a fallacy anyway. Because by such logic there is no evidence against all mythical creatures so should we just remain unsure whether they existed or not? Of course not.
We should cross them off the list unless there is proof for them.
Scientists don’t try to prove or disprove the existence of God because there is no experiment that exists that can detect God. That’s why faith plays a part. If one doesn’t believe in God, no proof is sufficient enough. If one does believe in God, no proof is required.
