I’ve seen opposite sex friendships remain purely platonic from start to finish, but under certain conditions. One or both are already seeing someone, one or both aren’t straight, or one doesn’t find the other attractive. Otherwise, when you have a single man and woman who are both attractive (conveniently good looking at the very least), then someone is going to catch feelings. Whether it’s one or both, doesn’t matter. I’ve never seen it any other way.
