He told me he loved me on our last date. I didn’t say anything at first because I was afraid it was a slip. I mentioned it later and he changed the subject. I mentioned it once more and he did the same thing. Now he isn’t texting me as much and the texts he does send aren’t as affectionate. Why is he acting so funny?
btw- I’m not going to mention it anymore if he’s still interested.
It's difficult to say for sure why he's acting differently, as there could be a number of reasons. However, here are a few possibilities:
1. He's feeling insecure: If he told you he loved you and you didn't respond right away, he may be feeling insecure or unsure about your feelings for him. This could be causing him to pull back and become less affectionate.
2. He's feeling rejected: Similarly, if he told you he loved you and you didn't respond in kind, he may be feeling rejected or hurt. This could be causing him to distance himself from you or become less invested in the relationship.
3. He's confused: It's possible that he's not sure how he feels about you or the relationship, and his behavior is a reflection of his confusion. He may need some time and space to sort out his feelings before he's ready to communicate with you again.
4. He's busy or preoccupied: It's also possible that he's simply busy or preoccupied with other things in his life, and his decreased communication and affection are not related to his feelings for you.
If you're interested in salvaging the relationship, it's important to communicate openly and honestly with him about your feelings and concerns. Let him know that you care about him and want to understand where he's coming from. However, it's also important to respect his feelings and boundaries, and not push him to talk about something he's not ready to discuss.
