I am a handyman, as I come from a blue collar family that places great value on self-sufficiency. My latest project was changing out the washer and dryer. We are currently renting and I don't have as much opportunity to practice my skills, but I do electrical, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, and painting.

That’s awesome! Onetime I moved the washer/ dryer to the garage, it was really exhausting😅
My old set was fading fast and I had someone offer me a used set/excellent condition for $200. I used my nephew to help me with the move. At age 69, I know my limits!

My hubby is ❤️😊. He was working as a handyman when i first met him on gag. 6-7 years later…we are married and he is a stay at home dad and he does everything!! ❤️ Me really really lucky. He cooks and takes care of the garden, car, computer…etc…
Sure. The last major project I did was building an off grid guest house that's roughly 800 square feet complete with a bedroom, living room, kitchen, bath, and laundry. So if I can build a house from scratch with it's own power plant, water filtration, and septic system by myself then I guess you can say I should be able to fix just about anything in a house.
Yes. Always doing something. Sanding and painting the lower kitchen cabinets currently, as the cabinets are better quality than the stock new ones at the local shop. Taking time with it (when have it) so we are living with pulled back plastic at the moment. The cats enjoy running through it at 3am.
What about you?

That’s very nice. I am glad that your cats are enjoying it lol I do everything, I did my kitchen cabinets before, bathroom remodel and landscaping and painting and many other stuff I love going to Home Depot lol
Yee, I learned a lot of handy work from my old man.
Recently I helped my brother wall mount his 85” tv
I told him to stop cause he was about to pay 400$ to have it professionally done, and at the end of the day he was happy with the finished product and saved all that money.
I know my way with tools, both powered and unpowered
It makes me wanna rip my hair out. Oil changes are so quick. Instead he goes to a jiffy lube to have them do it… so he’s paying extra for labor that he could potentially be getting conned for
Lol It is depends on the personality also For me it is mostly depends on if I know how to do it, so, sometimes I watch YouTube videos or ask for help. Thanks for your answer
Yes, I fix all kinds of things. I had a new shed built and I just ran electricity out to the shed. I did a lot of landscaping this spring and I am working on replacing a stockade fence.

Very good, I fix things at my house too. Usually I watch YouTube videos to have an idea
Yes, I had to replace the side mirror on my new truck and I watched a video on how to do it instead of just winging it like I usually did. It kept me from screwing it up for sure
Isn’t these stuff needs a license electrician, because one time I remember I wanted to do something like that at my house and I read that you can’t do it by yourself.
It's not difficult if you know what you are doing. There are certian tools licensed electricians have that make the job easier, but mostly the challenge of the job is running wires through walls. This is a huge pain but it is not generally dangerous (or at least not electrically). Connecting everything is pretty straightforward. Always connect the device first. The very last thing you should ever do is set the breaker into place. The ground neutral and hot (s) should already be connected to where they go before doing that.
And in general the amperage rating of the wire and device (s) should exceed that of the breaker. For a sub box I just put a 50A breaker on both ends and 55A 240V wire. The hard part was running that thick wire from the garage to the breaker box..

That’s amazing👍🏻👍🏻

Your brother is lucky to have you
It pisses me off cause I tell him
“Dude let’s change your oil” he goes
“Nah. Too much time”
It makes me wanna rip my hair out. Oil changes are so quick. Instead he goes to a jiffy lube to have them do it… so he’s paying extra for labor that he could potentially be getting conned for

I haven't called a specialist in years. All repairs or maintenance are carried out by myself.
Presently, I enjoy to be lazy... no ''projects''.
But there are ideas about what's next - once I unlazy myself.
That’s very good!

Totally agree
Some of my projects are hush hush. But what I can tell you about is the motorized tv cabinet I built.
Lol’
I'm pretty handy. I'm working on a table for my home office, to hold the printer, and later I'll be adding a bookcase to it.
That’s awesome, I like that
Post a photo when you done with it
I love working on my home!! Masonry, electrical, plumbing, framing, landscaping, roofing, siding, flooring, etc!!
Im kinda done after 20 years of work. No particularly big projects now.
Very good that you are done with big projects!
@NathanDavis is a handyman... me and @mandyfire98 are his latest project.
What does that’s mean lol
You are both are nice projects, he must be a very good handyman lmao
I do paint masterpieces...
He has a lot of paint too.
@NathanDavis I am following you, I can’t resist!
and no drop of paint goes to waste, no way...
True artists never waste any paint 🎨
love for the art...
Added Recessed Lighting Fixtures in Livingroom
Thats very good!
I like your living room
Moved lots of heavy objects from one suite to the one below it. It was pretty easy cause I'm strong, but a bit tiring
Glad you didn’t need to move them upstairs, it would be exhausting
Yes, but I don't have any current repair or construction projects atm.
Thanks for your answer
I used to be a long time ago, but not at my house at other peoples houses we got paid
So, you had your own business, that’s nice
Yes we did thanks and we found out that painting houses in Miami was the the best money so we went into that
I love painting especially choosing colors at Home Depot lol
that’s so nice that’s cool
Thanks for your answer also👍🏻
Yes, sure you’re very welcome
Running a sub breaker box to the garage.

I agree with you running the wires through drywall is the difficult part, I used Fish Tape W Steel Blade tool, it helped a lot
No I'm like a dog trying to walk in shoes.
Lol’’
Not anymore
Why not?
I don't have time and my current home doesn't need it (at least the things I'm capable of doing)
Yeah, right
I remember I did a lot of repairs in 2020 the time of pandemic as I had more time
That's a good example
