Am I impressed by someone who can speak two languages? Not really. I grew up in Florida, almost everybody is bilingual. But if somebody tells me they can speak four different languages fluently? Yes, I'm impressed. However if they just mention it for no reason whatsoever… Huge red flag 🚩, and major eye roll 🙄!
But if I'm talking to someone and it just comes up naturally, and organically in the conversation, then yes! I'm very impressed.
I went on a date with a guy who could speak 5 different languages (besides English). I was thinking “definitely father of my children candidate number one right here! Then after the meal, and after coffee, he said “so… Is there really any need to go to the mini-golf? what do you say we just go back to my place and fuck?” I told him “that is the best idea i’ve heard in a while! You do that, and go fuck yourself, and I’ll go home!” I’m SO glad I insist on paying for my own food and drink on first dates! Even some brilliant men are fckn’ morons when it comes to women!!! Yet, some of the most down to earth, regular guys, are absolute gentlemen! Guys, seriously… That’s all we want JUST to be treated with respect, and NOT as if we are a friggin’ toy that you get to do whatever you want with as long as you buy us dinner first!!! 🙄 🤦♀️

I speak three languages fluently (more or less... my English grammar is lousy AF) and understand another one...
but it still amazes me that humans have this ability to learn and fully understand different languages... especially that to fully understand the language you have to get a grasp of the country's culture...
MANY Americans are monolingual INTENTIONALLY aka the "speak English or die crowd". To me, monolingualism is a mark of shame and ignorance. EVERYONE should speak AT LEAST two languages and no, math doesn't count! Language gives cultural insight like no other exposure. YOU THINK differently as a result.

I speak 4 languages but I don’t think that’s something to brag about. It’s definitely an asset but I only learned them because of my grandparents and them being from different backgrounds. I do like to see people speak lots of languages but I wouldn’t necessarily say I’d be impressed.
Yes, it's impressive. People usually speak only 1 language and some speak 2. So 3 is a good number.
However, if they say that they speak 3 languages out of the blue then they're just showing off 😂
If they're actually fluent then yes it is impressive, but most of the time they've just learnt the basic structure, things like "I want a..." the problem is when someone tells me their fluent in Japanese I've no way of knowing how honest they are.
Absolutely. I can barely master my own.
super impressive!!😲😲🗣🗣
Yes. I’m impressed.
Always impressed :) even if it's just two.
