I am going samurai because it is a reasonable length and not because I am a ninja fanboy. Medieval were long and heavy.
Rapiers are a very long sword and a trip hazard plus slow to draw. The successor to them - the small sword was possibly the best so that is my other. Rapiers were useless for cutting.
The gladius Roman sword is very short but short hanger swords that were roughly similar were popular for everyday wear. Handy.
My #1 pick would be a saber with it not being overly long and the curved blade good for cutting and the point still usable. Army officers ended up discarding dress swords for the practicality of sabers despite the lower rank status of them. A cutlass if not a saber.
I have never picked up a sword but if I did I would want one I can swing around without training and of the ones listed the samurai katana is closest. But the saber would be my #1 pick.
good clip. When swords are weighed in on scholagladiatoria they tend to surprisingly close on weight. A rapier could be 4 ft long and most are 1 - 1.5 kg. A saber mostly is 850 g to 950 g. I have no idea how that weight difference feels in your because I have never held one.
If you are like me and just like looking at swords than this YT channel is the best.

It depends on the situation and the skill of the person who's weilding it. Roman swords were designed for whole armies to battle. For a 1 on one a rapier or a katana would probably be better than the heavier swords.
Depends. On horseback is saber the most effective weapon. One handed bastard swords with shield. Claymore and Zweihaender for keeping enemies at distance. Rapier for duels without armor. Katana for filleting of big fishes.
Rapier cuz it looks lightest, so u can move it fastest.
Jean pierre polnarreff 😏
My thoughts too.

People know their history here. It was of course the rapier. There is a reason it was used for duels. The first to land a hit usually wins and the rapier is definitely going to be the first
The Katana is a light strong weapon there are can cut through a gun barrel or for bodies and it only weights about 4-7 pounds which makes it a long sword that would one could duel wield with
U can cut my body with any swords except the samurai jeezzzz
Let’s go with the brave heart sword all that heavy power
All of them are equally deadly.
A samurai would be the best.
The sharp sword that cuts is the deadliest
Katana
The rapier
