In 2017, I went into our basement to grab my friend's pet bunny, even though it was on fire and I could hardly breathe or see. I had to feel my way around the walls to get back upstairs and I nearly passed out on our front porch from the smoke.

Depends on the risk level but in most situation I wouldn't hesitate. They are worth a great deal to me. I'v had Fidget (chinchilla) for 11 years & Waffles (corgi) since he was 6 weeks old, he's 8 months now.

age 12 when she was sucking on a dog bone and
it was close to the electrical cord well poor doggie
started crying i pulled the lamp and broke it to get
the cord out of the wall cause my dog was getting
electrocuted but i saved her life and she lived to
cancer took her March 31, 2016 .
I think a human life is a lot more valuable so no I would not, like run into a burning house to save a dog. Too many people die doing this and the dog usually dies anyways so what is the point? You can always get another dog, but your family cannot get another you.
For the moment I don't have an animal, but I can understand it. For some people their dog or cat means as much as the kids they don't have.

Depends on the situation. I'm capable of compartmentalizing well enough that I'd be able to resist throwing my life away even if it meant leaving my dog to die. But if there was a solid chance that we'd both make it, I'd take the risk no hesitation.
I wouldn't. I just read this story of how this man ran back into his burning house to save his dog. He died. Left behind his kids and wife all because of a dog. So, no thanks. It's sad if they die but I won't be risking my life, sorry.
