Red roses is a sign of love and affection. I've done some research and found that Angels leave scents of red roses.
When the rose wilts it means love is dying without proper love and care. However, a burnt red rose can mean different things. Burning red roses can interpret that the person who burns it, is either angry, sad or upset. When my boyfriend cheated on me, I cut his flowers given to me into pieces and threw them away. If I could burn them, I would but I didn't want to play with fire.
It can also mean something evil or death. In paranormal investigations, many people smell burnt red roses in abandoned hospitals and abandoned mental institutions. Could mean a bad presence or good, I don't know...
Roses meant that you received love before and received it again. But the person who received it believe that the love received is not up to standards and believes they have been betrayed. Burning the rose instead of just cutting it up means that the bad love given to them is instead gone into thin air and disappeared and a new life beginning.
Well, red roses are generally interpreted as the ultimate symbol for love. Burning one would be representative of scorning or rejecting the notion of love. Sounds like something a broken-hearted cynic would do.
"I'm through with love, I'll never love again.
Said adieu to love, don't ever call again"
This looks like a dramatic display of heartbreak, and the very fact that he's showing you this means that he's still feeling whatever he's feeling. More or less, it's a dare to "rescue his broken heart," or do nothing and let it be over.
Love is dead i think or something the opposite of what a rose symbol means but i just see it as a petty silly action

Hmm I guess jaded people do it? I've never heard of it before but with the rose's symbolic representation of love, I see burning it as a romantic based gesture.
