Is it bad to gift a wine glass for a birthday?

My sister and my nephew will be having a birthday party tomorrow and I just bought a box of wine glasses for each of them. My nephew will turn 21 tomorrow and my sister just turned 48 a few days ago so my gift to her is a bit late.

It's a great gift, IF they are wine drinkers! Top quality wine glasses are essential to wine lovers who spend a lot on a bottle of wine, or who are collectors. There are different shapes of wine glasses for different wines (who knew, right?) so choose accordingly to their taste if you know it. The best glass comes from Europe, either Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, Spain, etc. Don't waste your money on Waterford Crystal. Hit up TJ Maxx or Home Goods for decent sales.

I'm not gonna lie. As much as I appreciate people's gifts, I personally prefer having a consistent aesthetic when it comes to my place, so I probably wouldn't want a wine glass. But the majority of people would appreciate and like it.

It's a great gift. If you're not sure it's enough, add a bottle of wine for each of them, as well. But I think the glasses alone are very nice.

I think if she needed a wine glass she’d buy one. But if presents are expected, perhaps get a glass with etchings, or imprinted with names. Those are usually pretty cheap and easily done. Makes it more persomal
