How do they do it?
With a lot of training, prep-work, and bearing with the pain.

Interesting. I've seen several yoga poses that involve this "pointe technique." Nice to know that it originated from ballet. Or did ballet get this technique from yoga? Either ways, there is some overlap between the two.

Not only does it hurt, it does damage. There are lots of pictures of ballerinas feet with broken toenails, bruising, abrasions, and worse. Google it.
Of course it hurts. Have you ever seen a ballerina's feet? They're not pretty but they dance so beautifully
Its called Pointe.
and I'm sure it does hurt. they do it because they enjoy dancing.
It's all in your legs they have to be strong enough to hold you up.
Yes, it makes their feet bleed.
Years of training and intense fitness.
