Guys, Why do men lift their shirts and expose their stomach while talking to a woman?

There is a guy I've had classes with for about a year. I'm 10 years older than he is (but look his age) and find him attractive and intelligent. For the last 2 months or so he has started lifting his shirt and leaning back stretching so his shirt comes waaay up. I don't want to misinterpret the behavior, so I'm curious for feedback from other guys. Thanks!

Guys with a ripped stomach will do that so that you get to see it. It's not much different than a girl showing cleavage and then leaning over and letting you get a good look - they're doing it to show off and show interest.

I don't think this is standard "guy behavior" so I have no idea... Is he physically fit? Maybe it's an awkward way for him to try and show that off, though if your age is showing as 45+ so he's 35+... that seems more like what a teenager or 20-something might try to me. Awkward years.
