I have been seeing this guy for a while now. He says he wants to be with me all the time, he says he loves me, he says I'm his world. He texts me every night, and a couple of days ago, I wasn't feeling well, so my response was short. The next day at work, he was distant and sort of avoided me. When I texted him after work to ask why he didn't want to talk to me, he said he was giving me space because it's obviously what I want. It's not, that couldn't be further from the truth. Is that just his way of saying he doesn't want to continue this thing we have? Or that he just wants left alone for the weekend?
Give it sometime time. Never jump to conclusions based on just one episode. Nothing changes if this is the first time.
He may be insecure by nature. Or may be women he dated in the past told him why he can't take hints about they wanting space and he may simply be projecting that experience to you. It can be anything or simply nothing. Give it a week or two and see. During this time you want to behave normally - neither avoid nor overly try to be close. Just be the way you always were with him. Time will tell.
