I see how many of these meat eaters start trolling and insulting vegans and vegetarians. But the one concept I don't get is how specific they are about what meats they eat too. I am talking about western culture. By they way I am not a vegetarian or a vegan.
Highly depends on the reasoning. In my case it's not.
I wouldn't eat a cat cause I like cats, but I don't like cows so that's fine by me. That's me following a consistent logic of it depends if I like them or not.
Which makes me different to certain animals but not a hypocrite as my foundation is the same for all of them.
And I don't like dogs so I would have no problem with eating them.
Now if one's reasoning was I don't eat cats or dogs because that's wrong but every animal ain't, and can't answer why that makes sense just saying 'Cause it is' or 'That's a pet' hypocrite thinking with emotions than any sign of a rationale.

anyone who denies that is a hypocryte. you can't justify killing animals. it's proven that herbivores eat meat to. that whole narrative is made up. even whale sharks aren't just eating plant matter. it's a completely wrong idea fed to the masses.
if you don't believe me, prove me wrong!
As a vegan I always think this like how can someone really love their dog or cat like family then eat meat? I'm not even much of a animal lover but I can't ever imagine eating meat of any kind
i eat vegetables but i don't eat fennel or parsnips 🤷♀️

Hey, I get where you're coming from! It's like being a foodie; I've dipped my toes into all sorts of culinary traditions, from Italian to Japanese. The thing about food preferences, including the choice of meat, is super cultural. In the Western world, yeah, cats and dogs are off the table - they're seen more like family rather than food. It's not really about hypocrisy; it's more about the cultural norms and traditions that guide what's considered acceptable to eat. Every culture has its taboos and preferences, which makes the global culinary scene so fascinating. So, when someone turns their nose up at one type of meat but not another, it's more about those ingrained cultural values than a direct contradiction in their eating habits. It sure makes the world of food an interesting place to explore! 🌍🍴

Dogs for a long time were work animals and keeping cats around helps keep the vermin at bay. That's why we domesticated those animals so why would we kill and eat them, you think a cat or dog would stick around the camp fire if we'd eat them.
If you’re trolling any lifestyle you’re a hypocrite. Humans are omnivores thus we can eat either/both plants and meat.
Seeing how food is processed today I can’t blame anyone for adopting some rules. I do pay more for “organic” free range. Tastes better and lasts longer in my view. Maybe I’m biased.
But honestly when I see vegans they look like Gollums.Meat eaters troll only those Vegans who try to shove their agenda down our throats
At the end of the day , eating habits are a person's personal interests, others should mind their own business
Nope. Because just because you like fish doesn't mean you should eat EVERY fish. Some fish are bottom feeders like "carp" they will eat pretty much anything. So do you want to eat an fish that eats 💩?
That’s not necessarily true, as far as saying they don’t eat cats and dogs. That’s something that varies by culture. Many indigenous tribes have eaten dogs for centuries. Japanese are not shy about including cats in their meal plans. In America, up until the turn of the 20th century, it was not uncommon for many people to eat horse meat. If you were to dig back further in time, you’d find that pioneers and frontiersman ate any animal they could find.
Dogs are a delicacy in Kenya. Obama ate one. Cats are regularly served in Chinese restaurants. They taste like chicken. And a lot of vegetarians refuse to eat Brussel sprouts.
I'm sure most vegetarians don't eat poison ivy, poison oak, lawn clippings and a whole host of other plants, so would they be labeled as hypocrites too?
You do realize that cats and dogs are carnivores and carnivores taste like shit? Come on man this is basic knowledge. We eat herbivores for a reason.
No, meat from predators tends to taste really bad and is riskier to eat. There’s good reason for what we keep as livestock
You'd be surprised how many different animals hunters eat.
Next step is eating humans and I'd rather not try just how slippery this slope really is considering how common cannibalism used to be in some societies.
Dude seriously,
Thats like saying your not a vegan/vege cause you don't eat cactus or rose bush
Only certain plants are eatable and enjoyable. Same as meatNope, doesn't make us hypocrites.
not all meats are the same. Duck tastes different from elk which tastes different from pork.
I don't eat it because I can't buy it
I've had the regular stuff, game, buffalo and ostrichNo because you can easily choose what animals to eat meat from for whatever reason you want.
poison ivy sandwiches... yum...
This is just rubbish really.
Do you not understand what a hypocrite is?
Nope.
