Southern: Tacos, Tex Mex and smokier flavor.
USA. Northern or Southern cuisine?
Southern: Tacos, Tex Mex and smokier flavor.
I think southerners typically have more foods they can reference. The north has the best pizza in the country, which makes sense it was created by actual Italians, but I don't know what else there is. The south has Tex-Mex, Cajun, Creole. I can't think of any particular foods from those cultures that actually are as big of a staple as new york style pizza. Maybe American fried chicken. America didn't invent it but the style so many people know today is American. Clam chowder is nice. I prefer New England over Manhattan. The burgers we know today are thought to be from the North. Likely created by German immigrants so there's that. So burgers and pizza for the North and like, every other truly American food for the south
there is no identity. it's like i'm saying i'm going to florida to eat some nice cuban food, or georgia for the best creole, new york for the best italian, or seattle for the best colombian coffee
I haven’t really had a chance to travel up north so I don’t know much about the cuisines up there. I will have to say southern food. It’s oh so good, good ole comfort soul food!! It’s good! It be nice to try authentic northern cuisines. Going to the shop that specializes in northern foods ain’t the same as actually getting something tasty from one of the states up north. I want to try a lobster sandwich from up north Maine. I’ve heard they have whoopie pies. But is the food up north seasoned? I’ve heard lots of northern folks don’t believe in seasoning or spicing up their foods. Is that true?
Probably. Just like Europeans and that's why their food is. Bland. Also they don't have much spices since their climate is cold.
Come on dude don't make me choose 😂😂
But ok since I've lived in both areas I've gotta go with northern food because it was southerners who made me try deer and Im still tramautized by that

Southern.
Also southern would be more like ham hocks n beans with cornbread, pickled pigs feet, grits, fried chicken, BBQ, stuff that like.
Why is North Dakota steak? All they have is German food. Louisiana is salmon?
Anyway you forgot to add poor people food in the southern part. Collard greens, okra, squirrel, stuff like that. And way more wild game. You know, poor people food.
Isn't American food just junkfood like burgers and pizza
Not all of it... most of the exported stuff is
Lol its no body's fault you don't explore.
America's food isn't that spectacular but united kingdom's is probably worse lol? Roast chicken lads for dinner
Southern particularly southwestern but south eastern isn't bad either collard greens, pickled eggs I like a lot of that southern cooking, my dads family is from the south.
Each part of the country has their own flavor to the food they prepare. I have lived in the North and the south, Midwest and southwest and enjoyed it all.
Before I read the details, I was thinking, "what USA northern cuisine? We have no culture")
Why don't you explore? You'll see
Also i said "influence" for a reason
As a US Northener in my specific region, there is no local cuisine
It doesn't have to be local.
NYC pizza can be anything called but its just called pizza. It's not thesame dough or cheese as Italian pizza.
Well, I'm a Maryland girl, and we do love our crabs. However, I love all food! I can't decide! 🤯
Lived in both north and south. Southern has a lot of different kinds of food. Up north the imported foods are good in restaurants. Pizza Italian Chinese.
Northern because Southern cuisine tends to have a higher fat and calorie content diet, no?
Ah yes I live in the land of the pub. Fries pickles, chips, and alchohol. 6/10 Chicago kinda scary tho.
Neither, all of it will get you fat. And create diseases. I'd rather get something that not even remotely America.
I actually Love both and most everything in the middle lol
I choose southern cuz it's where I was born and raised, yet I am living as a Yankee rn lmao
I love southern food way better
Yes. Absolutely- except for the seafood.
Definitely southern. Cajun food is good shit
Both. But you should have added west and east.
