My boyfriend pointed out that I look a lot like my mom (eyes, lips, eyebrows, bone structure) and have sharp features like her. He then said that she didn't focus on looks like me, and I asked him what he meant. He then explained that she didn't use skincare products to enhance her looks and still looked beautiful (I had acne so used medicines prescribed by my dermatologist to treat it, and I use sunscreen and cleansers regularly). He then called her a natural beauty, and I asked him if he was saying that I don't look natural. He said that I indeed do not look natural, because of my lips, jaw and cheekbones and my body, and proceeded to say that I "have it all". I got a little upset because he basically called me fake even when I'm not. I don't know what to do.

Sounds like you should drop his skanky as and tell him to start dating your mom.

Oh wow, I can see why you'd be upset. It's one thing to compliment your mom, but comparing you two in that way was pretty insensitive. It's totally okay and necessary to take care of your skin and health, which doesn't make you any less natural. What's important is how you feel about yourself.
It might help to have a heart-to-heart with him, where you openly share your feelings. Let him know his words were hurtful and why. Communication can clarify intentions and help him understand your perspective. You deserve to feel beautiful and valued just the way you are! 💖 How are you feeling about it now?
