They are not actually all “pointy” there are some women’s dress shoes with a tapered “toe-box”, some have a rounded toe-box, some are flat, some are almond, and there are open toe dress shoes, as-well-as “peep-toe” shoes, and dress sandals (which yes, do come in high heel. (most call them "strappy sling-backs") But yes, some women’s shoes are pointed, and as amazing as they look, if the first thing you do when you walk through the door to your home, is to take your shoes off, you are either wearing an ill fitting shoe, a woman’s shoe, or you live with an obsessive-compulsive, anal-retentive, A-hole who’s never heard of a fckn’ carpet cleaner… MOM!
Oh, and as a quick side not to my female friends out there, (and a few adventurous men). If the first thing you do (after you take off your amazingly beautiful Manolo Blahniks!) is to take your bra off, then you are very likely wearing a cheap, or ill fitted bra. I highly recommend you look for a store in your area which specializes in bras, and just go in for a proper measurement, by a professional who knows what she’s doing! Then you need to realize that bra sizes are not industry standard. So one company’s “C” cup, may be another companies “B” cup, and vice versa. So when you find a bra you like, try it on. Then try on a size larger, and possibly a size smaller measurements are usually a free service, but while you are there, look around! You might just find that you’ve been wearing the wrong size bra since high school, and when you try on a GOOD bra, you’ll realize true comfort. We should not have to wear a fckn’ sports bra just to feel comfortable!
Hope this helps

No clue. When people make high heels, they don't think about if it's healthy for your feet or not. Same can be said why some lingerie is made the way it is: not about health either, it's just what sells. Looks sell, even if it just happens to be an item.
As near as I can figure out, the people (or possibly evil spirits) in charge of designing women shoes are motivated by a deep-seated hatred of women and a desire to cause them pain. Forcing their feet up at an awkward angle was a start, but then they expanded it so that now their toes are squeezed as well. I mean, look at a picture of a women's dress shoe, and then compare it with the shape of the human foot.
The absolute best possibility is that it was intended to make kicking people hurt them more, but you'd need a good run-up to get a powerful kick in, and the only person I've ever known to be able to run in heels is me.
I thought with high heels, the toe part is elongated unused space so the woman's foot does not look abnormal. In the pic the toes most likely wouldn't go past the flower.
Being pointy compliments the heel I guess but it doesn't as it is unused space

Dress shoes often have a pointy design for both style and tradition. Historically, pointy shoes signified elegance and sophistication, setting them apart from more casual footwear. The streamlined shape also elongates the foot, giving a more polished look which complements formal attire. It's all about combining tradition with a stylish, sleek appearance! What about you? Do you prefer pointy or round-toed shoes?

I have a theory about women's fashion generally.
1. it looks best when it looks like it's easy to remove.
2. women's shoes are to make it hard for us to run away from a man.
LOL J/K, but it DOES seem that way, huh?
It's all about the "silhouette"
Most fashionable clothes have only one job: create an optical illusion that makes a person more visibly appealing.
This has been the case ever since human wore clothes. They're not all pointy, or bedazzled or skinny heeled. (The ones in the pic are cute, though... very 1950s-housewife-finally-gets-a-night-out style...)
They’re not. There’s also open, square, round and almond toe.
I assume it’s for the same odd reason why women used to wear pointy bras
The pointy ones are best for squishing bugs in corners.
So when she kicks the obnoxious guy in the groin, it hurts more. 😎
Don't know. Don't care. Just tired of the site trying to shove this question down my throat every single time I click on the questions page.
i don't like them, especially the ultra-pointy ones, i like round toe or open toe
Supposed to be sexy, ends up to be crippling.
Because the more uncomfortable the shoe the sexier it is. 🙂
Heels and points are used to give the illusion of elongated legs.
Not all are but that just one style of dress shoe. Some are round or squared off. I guess cause certain people like a certain style of shoe
The more pain the more you’re reminded to please men visually.
To kick upskirt-peeking perverts in the balls
It’s a fashion design that stayed.
To kill cockroaches in corners.
Because it makes appearance more elegant.
They’re made to be sexy
