I had 20/20 vision until my late 30s until I noticed the vision in my right was blurry when I went to the desert one day with friends to sight in a rifle.
Several years later, I had to do a full test at the DMV to renew my license. I didn't pass the eye test with my right eye so they said I had to get glasses, which I did.
Then, around 10 years ago, I was planning to get a new "Real ID" driver's license so went to the eye doctor to get new glasses. Lenses didn't help my right eye, so they determined that I had cataracts, so I got cataract surgery on both eyes.
I now have 20/20 vision beyond a few feet in my left eye but I have glaucoma in my right and only see around 20/100 in that one. Glasses won't help.
So the only glasses I need are readers for up close.
not anymore. I had blurry vision probly genetic, a v looked like y or two letters overlapping.
i had glasses until i felt i could afford laser. did laser eyes, with many credit card payments, so no more glasses nor help needed.
my glasses were so expensive that instead of yearly new glasses for 8 years, was same amount for laser. i did laser to prevent annual glasses for age 30-70 =40 years of expensive lenses.
Yes, for driving at night. I have slight cylindrical deformation, with lot of light I have 120% vision (20/15 in US) in standard tests, but when it's dark I need glasses, otherwise my eyes get tired soon when other cars blend me.
Yup. I've had to wear them almost all of my life. And I am not trying contacts anytime soon, I've heard many horror stories already. Especially the ones where they get stuck inside your eyelid.
Yep, I do wear glasses! Mostly for reading and working on the computer. I've been thinking about getting a new stylish pair soon. It's amazing how a good pair of glasses can really enhance your look. Do you wear glasses or have any recommendations for cool frames?

don't need them so far...
but if the time comes, I'll try to fry my eyes like they're eggs... with a laser, and if that doesn't work... I'll just wear the glasses
not anymore but i technically need them. stopped wearing them full time in 5th grade cause i thought it looked too nerdy and made me less pretty. after that i'd sometimes put them on to read. stopped completely wearing them at 16 when i switched to contacts. though haven't used contacts since i was 17-18
I've worn corrective lenses since I was 7 years old. Tried contacts several years ago, but they didn't work for me, actually messed up one of my eyes, and I went back to glasses after a few months.
I’m thankful I don’t. Glasses are such an investment here and they aren’t covered with regular medical care.
Only when alone.
As childish as it sounds, I don't feel comfortable wearing them in front of others.
Opposite of me then.
I refuse to let anyone see me without glasses, but since I'm shortsighted I don't need them at home when I'm sitting in front of my screen. I'd still wear them regardless if it wasn't for the fact that my home pair pinch at the sides of my head and give me a headache. I really need to replace those.
Omg so many yes votes. All y'all on GaG are blind 😭
@Apple1996. You are still a baby, just wait darlin' 🤓
@KrakenAttackin nah I have good eye genes 👀
No I need glasses but don't wear them cause it's not bad enough to affect me that much.
Yes, sometimes, I wear cute or stylish blue light glasses 🤭
like for maybe an hour at nighttime. i hate wearing glasses. it bothers my face
Yes for reading purposes. I am still spot-on long distance.
No but there was time when I checked if I needed them, I don't think that I need them. :)
My vision is fine but I wear sunglasses to keep it that way
Yes, I just got the bifocals that don't look like bifocals
No. I've never had to. And when I have to wear sunglasses they drive me crazy. I'm hoping my vision stays good for as long as possible for that reason.
Nope but im getting up there in age that i suspect i will need them soon. maybe within the next decade
Yes, I do.
Yes but I usually just choose to be blind most of the time, I don’t rlly wear my glasses unless I actually need to
I have to when I drive because of my nearsightedness. When I'm not driving, I sometimes take the glasses off.
Just reading glasses. Just started the past couple years.
I said yes but its contacts. Im to vain for glasses!
