If you don't believe in God then going to church isn't going to do jack shit for you besides surrounding yourself with other people who believe in God. Maybe your Grandma is trying to assimilate you.
Man sees outward appearance, and God sees whats in your heart.
God, like love, cannot be force upon someone. No one is obligated to accept it. God doesn't ever force you to love him, because he gives you free will to choose on your own.
Even prayer only works when you internally pray from your heart.
Why is it that people who inherit money do not know how to appreciate money as much as the ones who earn the money themselves? Because those who inherit it didn't ever have to go through the experience of the art of making money. But those who worked hard and earned it learned it's lessons.
Believing in God is like that. When it's just given to you, you don't appreciate it as much as you would had you had found God yourself. Then you'd truly believe and understand how important a relationship with God is.

I'm atheist and when I had to go to church I just went on my phone aha but I know how you feel is boring asf
Since you are under 18, try joining their youth group if they have one. I used to not like going to church even though I believed in Jesus Christ. Ever since I moved to a different church and joined the youth group, I began loving going to church. My belief also grew and I love Jesus with all my heart. Your grandma is only making you to go out of love for you because she wants to show how Jesus wants to be with you. He wants to get into your heart. It may be boring, but if you try to take in the pastor's words... You may begin to realize things. I want to help you to change your outlook. If you are forced to go, might as well try to embrace it. :)
well i think that it's nice that you listen to your grandmother
cuz she's old and she loves you and just wants the best for you
i'm a christian myself but i'm not homophobic at all. maybe if she lets you, you could try finding another church that is more accepting and overall better. a lot of churches suck. youth groups can be fun as well, they're people your age that you can relate to and perhaps you'll understand the concepts better and be able to make your own decision about the whole thing :)
My parents make me go and I don't believe either! But, I'd never tell them that. They'd kill me and then pray. But, when I was younger I would go to sleep but now I can't get away with that 😕 I just sit back and let time go by or I just sneak to the bathroom and text people.
When I was younger I didn't like going either, but now my week is not complete if I'm not in church on Sunday's! I love it now!

You didn't mention her religion/denomination, but perhaps you could convince her to allow you to attend a Universalist Unitarian church. A few members of my atheist group attend our area's UU churches. They require no belief in any gods, and it would appear to your grandmother that you are indeed going to church.
You might have to put up with it until you move out. I know I had to go until I left home for university, and those two occasions a year (Xmas and Easter) were too much as they were.
Have you tried asserting yourself yet? She might make a big fuss trying to browbeat you into going but short of physically dragging you, what can she actually do?I believe in God, but I don't think she should force you. Going to Church, Christian or not, teaches you morals, and how to be a good person in general. So honestly, I don't see what's wrong with going.
Tell her that church is just not your thing. And you are not required to go there either. It's your own choice. A person goes there for themselves. If you don't believe in god then you have no purpose of going there. Explain that to her.
Just say you find more meaning in studying the Bible at home on your own and that organized religion corrupts the true meaning.
That should be a more than satisfactory answer to her.WHAT? YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN JESUS CHILD? Jesus loves you very much, and died for our sins! The rapture is coming young one! You need Jesus in your life or you're a bad person!
Lawls. No offense but I've noticed that people only look onto GOD when things go bad but what about any other day? Honestly id suggest you to find a way to enjoy it.
As much as you may dislike it, maybe it's your grandmas way of subtly saying she likes to spend time with you?
How i wish my grandma was living to hear her say
things to me that i should do and shouldn't doAww well she means well. Your generation will not be taking their children to church nearly as much as your grandmother's generation. Just grin and bear it and you will be free of having to go but take advantage of your grandmothers remaining years.
Pick a hobby for Sunday, problem solved. Check Please.
Go!
She might include you in her will.
