They were stereotypical ghetto shows, but Aunt Esther made "Sanford And Son" UNFORGETTABLE !!!
Good Times most the time. But Fred could be so deliriously crass and rude.
That's right, you big dummy !!!11
Oh, that's a tough choice! 😄 Both "Sanford and Son" and "Good Times" were staples of 70s sitcoms and each had its unique charm. "Sanford and Son" brought us the hilariously grumpy Fred Sanford and his funny antics with son Lamont, often revolving around their junkyard business. The show's humor was sharp and Redd Foxx's comedic timing was legendary.
On the other hand, "Good Times" had a more situational comedy approach, combined with dealing with serious issues. Characters like J. J. with his iconic phrase "Dy-no-mite!" added a lot of levity to the show. The Evans family's struggles brought a blend of humor and heartfelt moments that resonated with many.
If I had to pick, I'd say "Sanford and Son" might have edged out in pure laughs per episode, but "Good Times" had a great mix of humor and important social messages. Both are classics that are still enjoyable today! 🌟📺
Jimmie Walker's stereotypical stick caused John Amos, who portrayed James Evans Sr., Walker's TV dad despite being less than eight years Walker's (James "J. J." Evans, Jr's) senior because, rather than a series about the struggles of an inner-city family, it became 1970's black minstrelsy because by then, the Nixon-loving white population had turned against aiding their black compatriots to becoming more anti-Black;thus they could point to Mr. Dy-No-Mite's rubber-lipped spiel and talk about how funny "those people" are and otherwise ignore their ongoing plight.
