It's hard to say without knowing your preferred genres. What do you like to watch?
This Beautiful Fantastic is a sweet movie; a little slow for some people, but I enjoy how the characters interact with each other.
Belle (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) is a chic flick, frosted with a bit of artistic license and blended with history.
The Woman in Gold is funny and poignant and involves WWII; what's not to like? Ryan Reynolds is one of my favorite actors. You can pretty much look up his filmography and watch down the list.
Valerian and either Avatar movies are escapism sci-fi with decent storylines.
The Hunger Games series and Ready Player One are dystopian tech/sci-fi.
Sherlock (BBC) with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman is just plain fun to watch.
Cyrano is a musical that is sappy, melodramatic, funny and tragic in all the right ways. And it has Peter Dinklage, one of my other favorite actors, who knocks the crown off of Kenneth Branagh for the best Cyrano of all time.
The Man from Toronto is hilarious and absurd and just plain fun.
The Man from U. N. C. L. E. (2015) is a great action movie.
You can watch the Bourne movies, the Mission Impossible series (just skip M. I. 2, unless you enjoy watching tortured acting between the leads and like 20 solid minutes of dirt biking). You can watch the Pirates of the Caribbean series.
And you can always do a MCU timeline marathon if you run out of options. There's like 30 movies? When you're done with that, jump to the DC movies. Nolan's Batman, Cavill's Superman, and The X-Men Origins: Wolverine are all pretty decent (Robert Pattinson's The Batman gets an honorable mention; he pulled it off and I didn't think he could).
Then there's classics, like Shawshank Redemption and Schindler's List, Andrew Davies Pride & Prejudice and Sense & Sensibility, Gladiator and The Patriot. Some personal favorites are Doctor Zhivago (2002; I haven't watched the 1965 one yet) and War & Peace (2016 miniseries). Not idealistic, pretty or escapist, but they make one think.
If you'd like something both disturbing and riveting, watch Guillermo Del Toro's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
That's off the top off my head, but you'll probably enjoy something in there...
If it’s a 6+ hour trip I would recommend maybe stuff like Everything, Everywhere, All At Once. A solid 2 and a half hours of pure entertainment and heartfelt writing. If there’s any movie you haven’t seen but want to probably just make a list. If it’s like a 8+ hour trip, I wouldn’t put too many movies on there bc you’ll probably want to sleep on the way here instead, in which case there are some excellent ambient soundtracks to listen to on places like youtube
What do you mean by "intercontinental trip"? Like flying between Europe and North America? Or driving from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego? Or taking a cruise from Asia to Australia?
The amount of time traveling greatly affects the best answer to your question. What sort of thing you into?
Someone I was talking to said they were rewashing Heroes. So made me think of that.
I've been thinking of giving Vampire Diaries a retry...
And recently watched a good one called Money Heist. There's an English version and a Spanish version. I watched English version.
When I had to fly to Greece via Switzerland, they were running Trading Places, and not even Jamie Lee Curtis "protecting her investment" could keep me awake during THAT haul!
"National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation," mostly because of Big Boob Beverly DeAngelo, for us lads.
Enjoy the trip fully. And forget about movies.
If you've never seen Dexter, I'd watch that. I also like the entire Bourne saga.
series: Northern Exposure
movies: Fandango, Blues Brothers, & Millions
Golly gee, not another AI? Is this the ATT Lilly?
Watch the "Merlin" series, you'll fall in love.
The Last Day On Earth...
I am watching Outer Range on Amazon Prime.
How about Flight/Risk? 😀

Long flights are the perfect opportunity to dive into some great movies and series! If you’re looking for a mix of genres to keep you entertained, here are some recommendations:
For starters, you can't go wrong with an epic film like "Inception" by Christopher Nolan. Its mind-bending plot and stunning visuals will keep you hooked for hours. If you're into something more light-hearted, go for "Crazy Rich Asians" – it’s fun and visually delightful.
When it comes to series, consider binge-watching "Stranger Things" on Netflix for its thrilling and nostalgic storyline. If you’re into something a bit more dramatic, HBO’s "Succession" offers a gripping look at family power struggles. In the mood for laughter? "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is perfect with its witty humor and lovable characters.
And don’t miss out on some international gems. Korean dramas like "Crash Landing on You" are fantastic for romantic and heartfelt storytelling.
Safe travels and happy watching! 🎬✨✈️
