You’re basically asking what art is with a question like that lmao. While yes, the visual formats of painting would undoubtedly be the most easily recognizable form of art, visual mediums are not the only means to do so. There is auditory mediums, mediums that combine the two or incorporate more into it. Art is more than just a product of creative musings, it’s something that makes you think, it’s something that can change your worldview just to contemplate it. If you stare at a painting for long enough, you can make out the brush strokes, you can visualize the way it was made, the painstaking effort that went into it. So too can you also do this with a book, you see the final product and it gives you fantastic imagery in your mind that allows you to think as someone else, be someone else, or see the actions of someone else and question your own if you were in such a situation. Art is expression in its most basic form, it can be an epiphany given physical form in its most complicated version. You’re asking “What is art?” And then “what is the greatest (meaning most like the purest concentration of the concept) art form?” And honestly? It’s not a contest, there are no comparisons. You can’t compare the work of Leonardo Da Vinci to the works of Ursula Le Guin, nor to the work of Hans Zimmer, or George Lucas. They’re all art, none is objectively better than the other when we’re talking about something that exists entirely in subjectivity.
