The grade school I went to had a simple rule (well, it had a LOT of rules, simple and otherwise, but only one that's currently relevant): all students had to join the choir.
Then *I* came along.
After my audition, they changed that rule; I was the first in the school's history (so far as I know) to not only not be forced to, but to specifically be asked NOT to.
As such, my go-to karaoke song is the Champs' Tequila.

One of my go-to karaoke songs is Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison. Another one, strangely enough, is Mack the Knife by Bobby Darin. And Secret Agent Man by Jimmy Rogers.
When a Man Loves a Woman by Percy Sledge Stand By Me by Ben E. King
Actually, there are a lot, but those come to mind right away.
I play lead guitar and sing in rock bands. But my wife and I have friends who used to have karaoke parties at their house 3 or 4 times a year. They had hundreds of songs and a lot of them were oldies. I discovered that I could do a really good job hamming it up on some songs by Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Elvis, and other things that fit my baritone voice.
