If your building has elevators, always use the stairs instead. If you have a choice between walking 2 blocks or driving your car, walk. Or have a bike at work you can use. Always do the stuff that requires extra physical work and you will help maintain your muscles. When I lived in a city with a subway that was deep under ground, I was always *running* up the stairs instead of taking the escalator or elevator. This was when I was 20s... I'm still in very good shape now.
Congratulations on your new job! It's understandable to have concerns about the sedentary nature of office work. Instead of focusing on negative thoughts, consider proactive steps to prioritize your physical and mental well-being:
- Take regular breaks to stretch, move around, and refresh your mind - Explore nearby walking routes or gyms for lunch breaks or after work - Consider a standing desk or ergonomic adjustments for comfort - Schedule workout sessions or fitness classes outside of work hours - Find colleagues with similar interests to create a supportive community
Remember, your job doesn't define your identity. Prioritize your health and happiness, and find ways to make your work environment work for you!
If thats not for you what alternative lifestyles would you enjoy? Because perhaps one of those is realistic. Like if you rather just be at home and be a mom find a guy willing to be a provider for your family.
Get up every now and then, stretch, standing offices are an option where I work, some even sit on a giant ball, and of course working out after working hours.

Anyhow, never do what other people do unless you want to end up where they are.

No I don’t want to be a stay at home mom either
I recently got into the habit of working out early in the morning, and it's made a world of difference for my mental health.
Do they give you the option of working from home at all, or do you have to go into the office all the time?

Did a course about this a week ago. Take regular breaks and stretch your legs. It also is not good to sit staring at a computer all day either
Tempted to decline it and work in a factory
Do whatever makes you happy
there's standing desks now...
pretty neat ones... as well
Get married, then you won't have to work at all.
Get a job that is better aligned with what you want.
Get a gym membership and eat more salad
Why did you take it then?
Ask for a stand up work station.
This is so funny lol
