It depends on the situation to me how agressive it is and also a man will get in trouble if he hits a woman so if there's a better way to handle it I would do that. I would just not be around a woman who is violent. Thankfully I haven't met many. I'm sure there are some who are violent against their partners I've met a woman like that but towards me I haven't experienced it. I think it's just about setting boaundaries and not accepting it. If you follow through on it then you won't have to deal with these kind of things.

People say don't pull a gun out if you're not ready to shoot somebody. It's the same with boundaries don't set a boundary if you're not ready to enforce it. If people know you're going to do anything when they cross your boundaries they will get emboldened and see you as weak and desperate. So if you already give off the vibes that you won't put up with anything just to "belong", get along or whatever, then people won't try to mess with you. But you have to be willing to pull the trigger when it's necessary. That's just how the world seems to work.

If the person is not a genuine threat to me, female or male, I do not physically respond. If she or he persists or targets a smaller/more frail person, I might restrain, but I'm not sending someone to the ER because he or she lost control for a minute unless I deem the person a real threat.

I would never hit a woman no matter what unless I was in serious danger of being injured by her and there was no other way to prevent it like if she had a weapon or something. But obviously I would defend myself if attacked by one. I've had an angry girlfriend once or twice take a swing at me probably because she knew I would not hurt her. I would just play defense, grab her and hold her so that she can't hurt me. I don't harm women physically. It's just not in my nature.
