I never had or wanted a friends with benefits thing until after my 30's. For a female.
We (females) are thinking of relationships with the possibility of marriage and kids in our 20's. (I think. Not all women of course)
Men.. younger men in their 20's are fearful of commitment and idea of potentially sex with only one woman for rest of their lives. But they are very horny and sexual so they would rather play the field. (Again of course not all men).
That is why women like me can be cougars 😄. We don't want the marriage and kids (been there done that) but are highly sexual. So friends with benefits works super well between our age gap.
And the younger women who are looking for "providers" and not guys who want to mess around want to go for an older man! So guys in their 30's get pick of girls in their 20's.
Guys in there 40's and above hope for a girl in her 20's 😄
And women like me.. well. After being with hot young guys find it hard to be attracted to suitable older guys who generally let themselves go!
What a mess!
And yes I was generalising a lot here based on my personal perceptions and experiences!
Friends with benefits is usually a bad thing especially for woman, unless that woman is a slut and just likes sex. But there is no age restriction lmao. My older sisters good friend who is 40 ended up having a situationship with our older cousin and he is like in his early 50's.
Absolutely not. It depends on so many aspects. Everyone at some point is wanting at a different type of relationship. Some might not be ready for the commitment but want the sex another people might not have the time for a relationship but still want sex. Some people might just want multiple sex partners or get bored easily. All of which can happen to people of all ages who are sexually minded or sexually active.
I don't think so. We are all different and that includes what we need at different stages of our life which means that even after 30 a person may still need a friend with benefits because not ready for anything else. I think it's a preconception that certain things are limited to a younger stage in life.

if you must do friends with benefits, then yeah, it's more common and "acceptable" to have that in your 20's when you're still experimenting etc. if you're past 30 and still doing that, hell if you're past 27 and still doing that, then... i find that odd.
Nope, I think people aren’t good at being honest about what they actually want tho. That can lead to unfulfilled expectations. And people can change their mind and want more or less of a relationship over time.
I must admit that I feel a bit old for casual hookups, but if I were not wanting a partner, I’d probably go for something ongoing and casual with one man.
No, but they probably should be. I don't know anyone who ever really wanted a friend with benefits. It was always more something they tolerated to have a little human connection.
People who actually looked for that all disappeared from my life in the later half of my 20s.
No it is for anyone who wants to do it. But if you a guy it is better to do it with women who are under 30. Obviously friends with benefits is more for women under 30 and men at any age because there is the wall for women.

Only you have a say on what goes on with your own sex life
Nope, some women in their 50s are quite willing to have them. I admit it surprised me at first, but not anymore.
Are you kidding? Most FWBs are senior citizens, who enjoy the freedom to do whoever they want, no strings attached.
Do they bop younger folk?
@handsomelad70 Some do, if they get the opportunity.
I would !!!

Blame early 20s people - late late 20s people have the grasp 😀

No… Unfortunately, friends with benefits has existed since the dawn of time… they just called it philandering and moved on….
Nope.
Just about any age group likes to get busy and us older people have more free time to have fun.
Nope not at all. I know a couple of guys over thirty who are in them.

I'd say it is more popular with the opposite end of the age spectrum. People who have given up on trying for relationships. Or so it appears.
I don't think anyone should have "friends with benefits" at all.
No they’re for everyone. But women are looked down upon if they do that past 30. They’re expected to be mothers with kids.
What if they're single parents 🤔
If they’re single parents they probably ARE doing friends with benefits. People are human, they want pleasure too
do you explode or something... lol? if you do it at 31
