I don't know. We just don't have spousal support/alimony here in Japan. I think that makes things a lot simpler. At least I'm clumsy but my wife isn't going to get a dime divorcing me. She'll be worse off. 😅

I hope that's not the only reason she's staying with me. She's such a great woman. But maybe you guys with this alimony stuff need to change the laws so that you don't even need prenups anymore just like they're completely unnecessary here.

That said, here in Japan we don't expect women to be absent education and careers. That is the exchange. Since we lack any form of spousal support/alimony, it is not only traditional but expected that women can provide for themselves at least financially if not the rest of the family.
