He is diagnosed with schizophrenia recently. Also, my grandma had dementia I don't know if it is relevant but, they pass with genes right?
Dementia is an illness of advanced age. There are multiple factors that lead to it. Schizoid factors are genetic and run in families. Be aware of these factors, have yourself tested, and do regular therapy so a professional has a baseline of your ordinary behavior.
Schizoid factors usually manifest between the ages of 19 and 25, and far more males than females are schizophrenic.
There is no absolute of if one relative has a mental illness you'll have it. There are familial tendencies. Make sure you take good physical AND mental health care of yourself.

It’s possible you have the genetic components, but I don’t think it’s for certain that you will have schizophrenia or dementia just because your family members do. I could be wrong though.
Whenever another family member has Schizophrenia or other severe mental illnesses, a related person is at higher risk to develop it. With males, it shows up really early, usually in the teenage years up to early 20s. With females it can show up in the 20s - 30s, sometimes 40 years old. For women, it rarely shows up earlier than the teenage years or older than 40.
If you're actually in your 40s now, it probably won't present itself in you. Not impossible, but rare.
Schizophrenia is hereditary but there is no one gene that says you will get it. I looked that up, but what it tells me is they still do not know enough about the brain to give a detailed explanation!
I wouldn't worry though, as worry alone can be the cause of many ailments, and you might just as easily end up not getting any of those!

If your uncle has schizophrenia, it does mean that you have a somewhat higher risk of developing the condition compared to someone with no family history of it. However, it's important to remember that having a family member with schizophrenia doesn't guarantee that you will get it too.
Here’s a bit more detail:
Risk in the General Population: Generally, about 1% of people develop schizophrenia.
Family Connection: If a closer family member, like a parent or sibling, has schizophrenia, your risk increases to around 10%. With an uncle having the condition, your risk is increased but not as much as it would be if your parent or sibling had it.
More Than Genes: It's not just about genetics. Environmental factors play a big role too.
So, while your risk might be slightly higher, most people with a family history of schizophrenia do not end up developing the disorder themselves. If you're worried about it or notice any symptoms that concern you, talking to a healthcare provider is a good idea.
You’re 42, you’d definitely know by now if you had it. It can be genetic, but so can anything, really. I wouldn’t be worried if I were you.
No not necessarily. Surely it’s more likely if it’s a parent? Anyway, you would know by now so not to worry!
not necessarily. you do have a slightly higher risk. but more than "normal" people you should avoid thigns that increase risk like smoking weed.
from that side of the family you can get it but it's probably not likely
I know someone whose mother came down with it in her 40's and then when she hit her 40's snapped also. Not sure how it passes down. Ask a professional.
It’s the luck of the draw, it’s passed on but may skip you since you have chromosomes from two different people, dementia is different and anyone can get it
No just dont eat shit, you can't get it and be sure you have enough vitamin b3
Possibly but you got 20 or 30 years.
I don't think is hereditary.
