Saturday evening is a perfect time for a first date. Both of you should have no work responsibilities, and you've each had plenty of relaxing time during the day to get ready for the first date. It's also good in that if you and your date really click and the date is really good, you don't have to worry about what you're doing in the morning.

It's a completely fine time. Nothing momentum happens most Saturdaynights. A lot of events are scheduled then, because most people are free then. Read "Saturday Night" by Susan Orlean about what a normal Saturday Night is in several different parts of the US. It's creative nonfiction and pretty good.
She wrote it when she told a waitress she was working on a book in a restaurant and the waitress said something to another waitress about her working on a Saturday night. So she decided to find out if Saturday night is actually (as you put it) "scared". It isn't.

it depends on the free time both people who want to date have. Some people work evenings, so the first free time will be Saturday or Sunday evening...

I think Friday is generally meant for that. in my opinion casual quick dates can be any day of the week. More serious dates are reserved for the weekend

Not necessarily. You might be surprised how many people have nothing going on on Saturday nights. Most people hang out with their friends on Saturday night as the default thing they do if they have nothing else going on.

By my own understanding, completely the opposite. Dates are for Saturdays and friends are for the other days of the week. Sundays, of course, are not.
