Define "curvy" for me

Question

I have an hourglass figure so I consider myself to be curvy. But it seems like a lot of people use the term to describe a girl who has a little extra weight.So, what does "curvy" mean to you?

Hourglass figure is curvy. If people are referring to a curvy girl as someone with a little extra weight, it depends on how it's distributed. 36-24-36 is curvy (hour glass) however 36-32-36 is not. You could just say that you have an hourglass figure as you described yourself in your post.

When I was a teen people used to say that I looked like a 'Tab' bottle They don't sell that soda anymore LMAO! But I was bigger on the bottom and hips than up top and I always had a 4-5 inch gap in my waist when I wore pants. You can google Tab soda and pull up the image if it helps give you an idea. Hourglass is big on top, big in the hips and tiny in the waist.

You can also say that 'healthy' if you are talking to someone in an urban area is a way to distinguish extra weight from curvy (hourglass). Healthy never means that they have healthy eating habits it just means they are a little bigger. I wish we didn't have these descriptions of people, it's pretty demeaning don't cha think? I swear every woman and girl would be so much better if people weren't always trying to put us in a box. We would all have good self images of ourselves and treat each other better.

Curvy means a girl who is of perfect proportion in my eyes.

Like one of my friends - She's absolutely perfect but she thinks she's fat? She gets VERY angry when I say she's not. But really, I'm jealous of her because her bust (Dcup) is in proportion with her bum - whereas my bum is pretty big (in my opinion) and I'm a 34B! So I think I look like a tube.

I agree - when sizes differ it does nothing for a girls confidence.

My same friend refuses to buy anything above a UK size 12! She says it's just something she'll never do.

It used to bother me when I couldn't fit an 8 and had to go for a 10 but now I happily go out and say "Hey, I am what I am!"

So instead of suffering in silence with being size 8/10 - I'm happily (and comfortably) a size 10/12 :)

curvy, to me means does imply having extra weight and not being so shapely (I don't know, lol I'm weird- just me.) I prefer to use the term thick meaning to imply:

medium to large breasts

smallish waist

large, round hips

large (but not huge) thighs

but generally toned.I always use this term to describe someone who has curves in all the right places but isn't hugely overweight.

it's strange honestly, I'm 40DD (which I think some of that is backfat lollll), 28, 48 and I weigh 190 but most of the weight is in my hips, thighs, and behind- I don't have a huge stomach or anything. it's confusing. I do like the term thick better though. lol ;) thick definitely means in the right places lol

Curvy is a woman that is a little big on the heavy side but proportionate. Hourglass is nice and probably very proportionate. You could post a pic on your profile if you want.

The human brain has a knack at finding things that doesn't fit right. You look at someone and feel that something just doesn't fit but not know why. Beauty in hollywood is defined as being attractive and symetrical. The face and body should be near identical as the other half. Genetics and nature doesn't dictate that though since there are some things we can't control. A woman having one bigger breast than the other would not pass the symetrical test but still be highly attractive to a guy or girl.

Curvy to me, I'd say between 5'7 and 5'10 and 160 - 200 lbs. :) Some might define it as lack of fat rolls.

Curvy to me is all about the lower body: smallish waist with wide hips and solid legs. Being busty isn't necessarily part of it.

Look at the models of the 50's and 60's verses today's famous models to get a good idea of curvy. By today's standards Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Manfield and Bettie Page would almost be plus size models. Not that today's skinny models aren't attractive but they're a tiny percentage of women and in some people's eyes have become the standard. It's ridiculous.

I would say that curvy means that you aren't a twig. It means you are naturally feminine and have a pear or hourglass shape, which attracts men. Someone who is curvy usually has a little extra in the thigh, butt, and chest area than girls who aren't curvy.

depends on the context I guess. like if you were talking about your pretty friend who maybe carried a bit of extra weight you might say "she's gorgeous and curvy" or it could be a girl who has a big bust and big hips and thighs, they are curvy. Some really skinny girls might have hips and boobs and someone would consider them curvy. it all depends on the person I guess. I use it for lots of different girls.

I have the same problem, when I am discussing girls with the guys, and I say I like curvey girls, they all are like, oh you're a chubby chaser? No, a curvey girl is one with a nice figure, probably not as thin as most of those "stick girls" but way sexier

I consider myself curvy, my measurments are 36-27-38. I think of curvy as the classic women of the 50's such as Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor and of course Marylin Monroe. Curvy is usually associated with an hourglass figure, meaning an ideal 7 inches between hips and waist, but also having a decent sized bust. If you have the 7 inches between the hips and waist with no bust you are considered pear shape.

curvy to me sounds like someone who is overweight.

but at the same time I've been called curvy and I'm underweight (I have a tiny waist and big hips so that's also curvy)

most of the time I hear curvy though its when people are a little overweight.

Nice wide hips and possibly a nice sized ass too.  I am considered curvy because if I didn't have such big hips I would be a size 6 but I am a size 8 because of my hips and butt.

Curvy is Hourglass figure or pear shape. Big butt, waist to hip ratio, and/or small waist.  Marilyn monroe, sophia loren, beyonce, Jlo, etc. thats curvy. hell, I'm curvy! and I love it.

Curvy is beautiful believe me I wouln't have it no other way!  Example: non-curvy=Lindsey Loghan curvy=Beyonce  As simple as that, not fat but you have boobs and a butt not a straight line shape.
