Can a guy's feelings for a girl change over time?

This question is mainly for the guys, but anyone can answer really.

My question is: Can a guy's feelings for a girl change over time? Or, are guy's feelings pretty much consistent over time?

In other words, say a guy is "just friends" with this girl in particular, and he doesn't feel any romantic feelings for her whatsoever. Can his feelings for her eventually change? Could he eventually start to like her over time? Or, are some girls permanently doomed to the "friend-zone" forever?

So, I guess I have 2 questions:

1) Can a guy's feelings for a girl change from being non-romantic to romantic over time?

2) And if so, what usually causes this to happen? (for example, is it something the girl does? Or is it more so a change within the guy?)

Yes, of course feelings can change. There is no one thing that can inspire this - usually it's some jarring change that causes them to reevaluate the girl. It could be within the guy, like some new maturity or experience. It could be something the girl does that causes the guy to see her in a new light. It could be something like an absence that accentuates the differences in two people. Gradual change doesn't mean much when you're always around somebody, but can be startling after a time apart.

Ultimately, if you're hoping to change a guy's mind about you, you can't really leave it up to him. He might see otherwise on his own, but there's no real way of knowing. You really need to somehow cause him to see otherwise - give his brain a little nudge to pay closer attention to your womanly traits. It could be something you do personally, a conversation you enlist a friend to start with him, or even a situation you arrange. You'd be the one to know which is best.

  So, if it's something the girl "does" that makes him see her in a "different" light, what has usually (in your experience w/girls) taken place that has caused you to see a girl in a different light? What has the girl done in other words?
  
  And how does a girl "cause" a guy to change his mind about her? I didn't think you could MAKE someone like you or change their feelings about someone. How do I make the guy pay more attention to my "womanly traits"? Which traits are those? I'm confused :-(

  To be as blunt as possible, the main difference between a close friend and a boyfriend is sexual interest. If a guy really likes you but doesn't see you in a sexual light, then he'll be good friends but not want to go out. If you want to cause a guy to reevaluate his view of you, you need to aim at making him notice that you're more than just a guy friend with a few different parts. That doesn't mean you need to try to seduce him or anything; it can be as simple as a revealing conversation.

1) Yes, feelings can change.

2) Mostly a change within the guy. Possible causes: He matures. He gets a different view of life. His priorities change.

Oh yes. feelings change as you get to know a person better. if you start off any friendship and you are totally yourself and being honest throughout the whold friendship more than likely you will build a strong bond with your significant other. its better to be friends first so that way you each can know which level you connect on.   Oh hehe, thanks! But, this guy and I aren't dating. We're just friends. I don't even know how he feels about me, but I like him and I've always thought that there was something unspoken between us at times.
  
  Yet, I'm wondering if I'm shooting myself in the foot by trying to continue being his friends. He's probably not interested in me like I am in him, and I'm just scared that if I continue to be "myself" and be his "friend" that he'll just inevitably put me in the dreaded "friend-zone"

1. Yes, guilty as charged.

2. Girl that I was friends with started showing the sings that she liked me more than a friend, and I kinda liked her in that way too, so it went off from there. She's now my girlfriend :)

  Hmmm... so all it took was a girl showing interest in you BEYOND friendship, and you started to feel the same way? Or, were the feelings always there to begin with? What if a guy didn't have feelings at ALL for this girl? Can his feelings change to feeling romantic about this girl over time and getting to know her?

  I didn't have any romantic feelings at all for this girl at first, but she started to like me beyond friendship, and then they developed. Of course, this happened over time, and our minds sort of connected and we "clicked."
